Al-Aqsa Storms Under Police

Hundreds of settlers stormed the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound in occupied Quds on Monday through the Mughrabi Gate under heavy protection from Israeli police, according to the Islamic Waqf Department in occupied Quds as cited by وكالة سبأ.

وكالة سبأ said the Islamic Waqf Department stated that 302 settlers stormed Al-Aqsa and conducted provocative tours of its courtyards, with intruding settlers performing Talmudic rituals in the eastern area of the mosque under Israeli police protection.

The New Arab reported that the Palestinian Ministry of Awqaf and Religious Affairs said Israeli occupation forces stormed Al-Aqsa Mosque 23 times during May and prevented the call to prayer at the Ibrahimi Shrine 74 times.

The report described the peak of incursions on May 14, coinciding with Jerusalem Day, when more than 1,400 settlers stormed the mosque, including ministers, Knesset members, and extremist figures.

In a separate account, العربي21 said the intrusion into Al-Aqsa begins at 6:30 from the Moroccan Gate and lasts about five hours, with another intrusion after the noon prayer, as settlers wander the courtyards and precincts under tight military and security guard.

Arrests, Rituals, and Property

Al-Jazeera Net said that on Monday hundreds of Israeli settlers stormed the Al-Aqsa Mosque while occupation authorities arrested one of its guards.

Al-Jazeera Net reported that the Wadi Hilwa Information Center for Jerusalem said that 397 settlers stormed the Al-Aqsa Mosque during the morning and evening raids, while the Jerusalem Governorate said the intruders performed Jewish rituals during the raid.

The same Al-Jazeera Net account said municipal crews stormed a plot of land belonging to the Armenian Monastery in Silwan south of the Al-Aqsa Mosque and confiscated Palestinian property, including vehicles.

In a video recording published by the center, Palestinian Jerusalemite Khaled al-Zeer said, "I works as the guard of the land and was surprised by the intrusion," describing how the Israeli Nature Authority was trying to seize the land and turn it into a public facility.

Al-Jazeera Net added that the information center noted the installation of barbed wire around the land and the erection of a gate at its entrance before taking possession of it and closing it off in favor of the municipality.

Escalation and Wider Restrictions

العربي الجديد said the Awqaf report documented strict measures on worshippers, including days banning men under 60 from entering and women under 50, and assaulting worshippers at the gates.

The report also said occupation forces raided the vicinity of the Qibli Mosque and the Dome of the Rock during Friday sermons and prayers on more than one occasion, while continuing to impose strict measures on entry.

العربي21 described the occupation authorities as accompanying intruders and preventing anyone from approaching them, adding that the occupation forces have turned Al-Aqsa into a military barracks.

It further said the incursions occur daily in two shifts, morning and evening, except Fridays and Saturdays, as part of attempts to impose full administrative, security, and military control over the Haram al-Sharif.

In a related account, وكالة سبأ said calls continue for increased presence and vigilance at the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound, a move that affirms adherence to its Islamic character and reinforces the Palestinian presence within it.
