Charges and execution risk
Iran International said detainees from recent protests in Shahroud, Iran are facing charges including moharebeh, with the possibility of death sentences being issued or carried out.

The report named Javad Ajam, Morteza Zamani, Farshid Rahmani, Ali Reza Saghri (a martial arts coach), and Buya Saghri as among those facing the charges, and said their cases require follow-up and conveying information about them to the public.
In the same reporting stream, Iran International quoted Hegseth after participating in the NATO meeting, saying: "President Donald Trump has made it clear that if Iran does not comply during these negotiations".
It also quoted the US Secretary of Defense on the naval blockade, saying: "When the blockade is fully lifted, we will retreat and allow freedom of trade to flow."
Bürgenstock talks begin
Masrawy reported that Switzerland prepares for the first rounds of talks between Washington and Tehran to implement the memorandum of understanding, with the first rounds beginning this Sunday at the Swiss Bürgenstock Resort.
Masrawy said the American negotiating delegation is led by envoys Steve Weitkoff and Jared Kushner, while the Iranian delegation is led by Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf and includes Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, Central Bank Governor Abdolnasser Hemmati, and Deputy Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council Ali Bagheri-Kani.
Masrawy added that the Pakistani Foreign Ministry confirmed technical talks will begin with participation from the United States and Iran, alongside mediators from Pakistan and Qatar, as part of following up on the memorandum of understanding signed in Islamabad, which paves a 60-day negotiating track.
In parallel, annahar quoted Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesman as saying, "We have fulfilled our commitments, and the United States is obliged to compel Israel to halt its attacks on Lebanon."
Hormuz strikes and MoU risk
Al Jazeera reported that the IRGC on Sunday released video showing the launch of ballistic missiles overnight and said it had fired missiles and drones towards the US Ali Al Salem airbase in Kuwait and the US Fifth Naval Fleet in Bahrain in retaliation for a second day of US strikes.

Al Jazeera said Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi told reporters in neighbouring Iraq on Sunday that Iran will exercise sole management and oversight of the critical waterway for the next 30 days before allowing full traffic to resume.
The same Al Jazeera report said the first clause of the June 17 MoU says military operations must immediately and permanently end on all fronts, including Lebanon, and urged Washington to exert pressure on Israel to stop attacking southern Lebanon.
Al Jazeera also quoted Negar Mortazavi as saying she expected the Lebanon issue to negatively impact the MoU because Hezbollah was not on board and the Lebanese government’s previous ceasefire deals with Israel have been repeatedly violated.
