14-Point Deal Signed
The United States and Iran signed a 14-point memorandum of understanding aimed at ending their war and reopening the Strait of Hormuz, with the agreement due to trigger a 60-day window for negotiations on a final deal.

The New York Post said President Trump warned the Islamic republic to abide by the agreement or face a resumption of war and destruction, quoting him as saying, “We’re gonna bomb the hell out of them if they violate the agreement,”.
The Australian Broadcasting Corporation reported that the presidents of the United States and Iran “have officially signed a memorandum of understanding aimed at ending their war and reopening the Strait of Hormuz,” and said a senior US official read out the full text of the 14-point document.
The memorandum’s framework includes a $US300 billion ($424 billion) reconstruction fund for Iran and a commitment that Iran will not procure or develop nuclear weapons, while leaving key questions around the nuclear program for final negotiations.
The Guardian said the Trump administration released the text of its 14-point agreement with Iran, claiming it delivered a “major win” for the United States even as it made political and financial concessions to reopen the strait of Hormuz.
Strait, Sanctions, Uranium
The Australian Broadcasting Corporation reported that the agreement says the Strait of Hormuz will be toll free for 60 days, while leaving open the possibility that tolls may be imposed in the future.
The Guardian described the nuclear component as involving down-blending of Iran’s 440kg stockpile of highly enriched uranium, and quoted a senior administration official saying, “At a minimum, the enriched stockpile will be destroyed by down-blending,”.
CNN said the memorandum is due to be formally signed Friday, triggering a 60-day-window to negotiate the final terms, and quoted a senior US administration official saying it would “commit the Iranians to destroying the nuclear dust.”
The memorandum text, as read out in full by CNN, states that the United States will begin removing its naval blockade immediately upon signing and fully end the naval blockade within 30 days.
The New York Post said the MOU lays the groundwork for two months of negotiations between Washington and Tehran on de-proliferation efforts, including whether the Strait of Hormuz remains free for ship traffic and “what it will take to permanently list sanctions on the Islamic regime.”
Lebanon and Regional Fallout
The Australian Broadcasting Corporation said the text released by the White House makes more specific comments about the situation in Lebanon, and described a dispute over the future of Israeli forces inside seized and occupied Lebanese territory.

It reported that Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said Tehran demanded a withdrawal of Israeli forces, and quoted a White House official saying, “[Iran] have to get a collar on their dog in Hezbollah and they've got to hold them back,”.
The Guardian reported that the ceasefire deal included Lebanon and included a clause ensuring the “territorial integrity” of Lebanon, while noting an administration official did not confirm what that would mean for Israel’s “buffer zone” occupation.
The New Arab reported that Palestinians in Gaza received the announcement of a framework agreement between the United States and Iran brokered by Pakistan, but said Gaza was not explicitly mentioned in statements released so far.
In a camp for the displaced in Gaza City, Ahmed Abu al-Atta, 43, told The New Arab, “many residents had hoped a US-Iran agreement would create momentum towards ending the conflict inGaza,” as residents focused on what was omitted from the initial announcement.
