ABC4 Utah said Krishna was last believed to be along the Rim Trail at Hermit Road, between the Bright Angel Lodge and Mohave Point, and there was no known vehicle associated with him.

The National Park Service said dispatch was notified of a missing person identified as 26-year-old Sandarsh Krishna on April 28, 2026, and urged anyone with information to contact the ISB Tip Line at 888-653-0009.
Krishna was described as 5 feet 10 inches tall with a thin build, approximately 160 pounds, black hair, and brown eyes, and he was last seen wearing athletic clothing.
Body recovered
ABC15 Arizona later reported that the person reported missing at Grand Canyon National Park last month has been found dead, with the death under investigation by a medical examiner.
The ABC15 account said crews recovered a body below the rim near Verkamp’s Visitor Center on the South Rim on Saturday, May 9, and the body was later identified as Krishna.

Park officials had previously asked for the public’s help in locating Krishna, whose last believed location was along the Rim Trail along Hermit Road between Bright Angel Lodge and Mohave Point between 4 p.m. on April 27 and 12 a.m. on April 28.
ABC15 also said Krishna’s backpack was turned in by a Good Samaritan on the day he was last believed to be in the park.
Investigation and next steps
With Krishna’s identification confirmed, the Coconino County Medical Examiner is investigating the cause of Krishna’s death, according to ABC15 Arizona.

The National Park Service had earlier framed the search as a request for public assistance, saying anyone with information regarding Krishna’s whereabouts was urged to contact the ISB Tip Line at 888-653-0009.
ABC4 Utah added that in an emergency people should call 911, and it also said there is no required waiting period to report a missing person.
ABC4 Utah further recommended that when working with local law enforcement, people share as much information as possible about the missing person, including notes on interactions such as officer names, dates and times, the case number, and what the officers say.
