Tank strikes in Biyyada

Hezbollah said it hit an Israeli Merkava tank in Biyyada in southern Lebanon with a guided missile on Monday night, claiming a confirmed hit and reporting that the tank was seen burning.

In a statement on Telegram, the group said the attack was carried out at 11:45 pm local time “in defence of Lebanon and its people, and in response to Israeli enemy violations of the ceasefire and attacks on villages in southern Lebanon.”

Middle East Eye reported the claim as Hezbollah targeting the Merkava tank in Biyyada in southern Lebanon with a guided missile on Monday night, again emphasizing the “confirmed hit” and that the tank was seen burning.

Lebanon Debate also described Hezbollah operations on the southern front that included a Merkava tank strike in al-Bayyada with a guided missile at 11:45 p.m., producing a direct hit and setting it on fire.

The same outlet then said Hezbollah followed that with another strike around midnight, targeting a gathering of vehicles and soldiers in the same town using rocket weapons.

Across the reports, the common thread was Hezbollah presenting the actions as responses to ceasefire violations and attacks on villages in southern Lebanon, while describing direct hits and burning vehicles or tanks.

Friday attack tally

Anadolu Ajansı reported that Hezbollah announced 46 attacks on Friday against Israeli targets, including tanks and settlements, in consecutive statements.

The outlet said the attacks came “in defense of Lebanon and its people” as Israeli aggression against the country continued since March 2.

Anadolu’s monitoring put the number of Hezbollah attacks on Israeli targets at 918 since March 2 up to Friday at 20:41 GMT, and said March 26 saw the largest number of attacks by the group at 96.

The report described Hezbollah targeting a warplane in the sky over Beirut with a surface-to-air missile, while not disclosing the results of the strike.

It also said Hezbollah carried out 32 attacks on gatherings of Israeli soldiers and vehicles, including 27 in southern Lebanon in the towns of Qantara, Debel, and Al-Bayyaḍa, and added that there were four attacks north of Israel near the Malakiya settlement, the Misgav site, and the Sasa settlement.

In addition, Anadolu said Hezbollah targeted 25 Merkava tanks with guided missiles in towns including Al-Bayyaḍa, Al-Tiyba, Qantara, Deir Srian, Debel, and the Wadi al-Ayun area in southern Lebanon, claiming “direct hits.”

The same Anadolu report described seven clashes using light and medium weapons with Israeli forces concentrated in Al-Bayyaḍa, the road to Qantara, and near Barqa east of Beit Lif in southern Lebanon.

Thursday artillery claim

Elnashra published a Hezbollah statement saying fighters targeted a self-propelled 155 mm gun south of the town of Yarin on Thursday, April 30, 2026, and achieved a confirmed hit.

The outlet framed the claim as Hezbollah acting “in defence of Lebanon and its people, and in response to the Israeli enemy's violation of the ceasefire and the attacks that hit villages and destroyed homes in southern Lebanon.”

Elnashra’s page also included additional Hezbollah claims in the same format, including that Hezbollah targeted a gathering of soldiers of the Israeli army in the town of al-Beiyada on an assault sortie and achieved a confirmed hit.

It further listed claims that Hezbollah targeted a Merkava tank in the town of Rashaf on an assault sortie, and targeted a Merkava tank near the town of Beit Leiv on an assault sortie.

The same compilation said Hezbollah released footage of an operation targeting a Merkava tank in the town of al-Qantara on an assault sortie, and that Hezbollah targeted a gathering of soldiers of the Israeli army in the square of the town of al-Qantara on an assault sortie.

Elnashra also listed claims that Hezbollah targeted an evacuation force belonging to the Israeli army in the town of al-Tiba on an assault sortie, and targeted an armored personnel carrier belonging to the Israeli army in the town of Ramiah on an assault sortie.

In the same set of claims, Elnashra said Hezbollah targeted a Merkava tank in the town of al-Qantara on an assault sortie and achieved a confirmed hit, and it described multiple operations as “assault sortie” actions.

Media framing and escalation

Lebanon Debate described the southern front as experiencing “an ongoing field escalation along the southern border” where “clashes between Hezbollah and the Israeli army are intensifying,” and it said the party’s operations reflected “increasing reliance on dive-bombing drones and guided missiles.”

The outlet said Hezbollah announced targeting a Merkava tank in al-Qouzah via a diving attack, followed by targeting a D9 bulldozer in Rashaf via a diving attack, and it added that a similar bulldozer was targeted in Khallat Raj in Deir Srian.

It also said Hezbollah targeted a military vehicle pulling the bulldozer, indicating “close monitoring of ground movements.”

The same report said Hezbollah later announced another strike on a Merkava tank again in al-Bayyada with a guided missile, followed by a rocket attack targeting a gathering of Israeli army vehicles at the outskirts of Khallat Raj in Deir Srian, “confirming direct hits.”

It further said Hezbollah’s war media released footage of a previous operation carried out on April 28 showing targeting of a Merkava tank in Qantara by a diving attack, in a message affirming continued reliance on this pattern of operations.

By contrast, Anadolu Ajansı reported a broader tally and also included a note that Israel imposed a blackout on the results of Hezbollah’s attacks, with media scrutiny and warnings not to publish photos or information relating to casualties or targeted sites.

Anadolu also tied the widening Israeli assault on Lebanon to spillover from a war being waged by the United States against Iran, Hezbollah’s ally since February 28, and it said the widening Israeli aggression against Lebanon left 1,142 dead, 3,315 wounded, and more than one million displaced, according to Lebanese authorities.

Al-Manar media claims

The outlet said “Islamic Resistance fighters launched guided missile targeting an Israeli Merkava tank in the town of Al-Bayyada, scoring direct hit,” and it labeled that as “Hezbollah Military Media statement 7.”

It then reported that Islamic Resistance fighters targeted an Israeli helicopter over the town of Al-Bayyada with a surface-to-air missile and achieved a confirmed hit, citing “Hezbollah Military Media statement 10.”

Al-Manar also said Hezbollah’s fighters targeted a gathering of Israeli vehicles in the town of Al-Bayyada with an attack drone, scoring confirmed hit, as “Military Media statement 9.”

The Al-Manar page presented these claims as part of a continuing stream of “Latest News” and “Urgent News,” but the Lebanon-specific content centered on repeated strikes around Al-Bayyada.

These claims align with the earlier pattern described by Middle East Eye and Lebanon Debate, both of which tied Hezbollah’s actions to Merkava tanks in and around al-Bayyada and Biyyada and to the time window around 11:45 pm.

Anadolu’s monitoring similarly described multiple attacks in southern Lebanon towns including Al-Bayyaḍa and Qantara, and it said Hezbollah targeted Merkava tanks with guided missiles in those areas.
