Hezbollah strikes in Lebanon
Hezbollah said its Islamic Resistance fighters targeted a Merkava tank as it was moving in the town of Al-Bayyaḍa with a guided missile at 02:00 a.m. on Thursday, 2026-05-14, achieving a confirmed hit.
In a second statement, Hezbollah said that at 02:30 a.m. on Thursday, Islamic Resistance fighters targeted a gathering of vehicles and soldiers of the Israeli enemy army in the town of Al-Bayyaḍa with artillery shells and rocket salvos.

The same source also said Hezbollah “targeted a Merkava tank and a leadership center for the Israeli army in Al-Bayyaḍa,” and it listed additional targeting claims across southern Lebanon.
In parallel, the Israeli army said a commissioned officer of the Golani Brigade was killed as a result of yesterday’s battles in southern Lebanon.
Drones and competing narratives
A report attributed to Al-Mayadeen described Hezbollah’s FPV drones as using fiber-optic cables several kilometers long, making them “immune to electronic jamming,” and it said a live transmission cut off when a drone exploded nearby.
The same account said the drone incident killed one soldier and wounded six others, after three Israeli occupation army soldiers heard a faint buzzing before identifying its source.

The report also quoted an Israeli military official saying Israel recognizes the threat posed by drones and is striving to develop capabilities to detect and intercept these weapons.
In a separate local Western framing, The Guardian was cited as reporting that the escalation of Hezbollah’s drone warfare along the Lebanese border is increasingly common in southern Lebanon.
What comes next
Hezbollah’s statements in the sources also framed the attacks as part of a continuing response to Israeli ceasefire violations, with one brief saying the Islamic Resistance announced the execution of “13 special operations” against the occupying forces in southern Lebanon.
That same brief listed operations including targeting an Israeli Merkava tank in the Tel Nahas area on the outskirts of the town of Kfarkila at 00:10 with a guided missile, and targeting a gathering of occupation vehicles and troops in al-Bayyadah at 02:30 with artillery shells and a rocket volley.
It also described an assault helicopter positioned to assault Israeli soldiers inside a tent along the Deir Srian riverbed in south Lebanon at 11:00, and an attack helicopter targeting a Hammer armored vehicle in the town of Tirharfa at 15:10, achieving a confirmed hit.
Meanwhile, the Elnashra source included an “Official Lebanese source to LBCI” saying “Work is in progress to achieve a comprehensive ceasefire tonight and we hope all sides will adhere to it.”
