Israeli Army Exposes Use of Palestinian Civilians as Human Shields in Gaza

The Israeli army inadvertently exposed its use of Palestinian civilians as human shields during the Gaza war.

The army quickly deleted and cropped the footage, but the original clip was recovered from social media accounts.

An officer revealed that forces use Palestinians as human shields at least six times a day.

Haaretz confirmed the practice was carried out with knowledge of senior officers, including former Chief of Staff Herzi Halevi.

The use of civilians as shields is a war crime under international law.

The Israeli army stormed Kamal Adwan Hospital, the last major hospital operating in northern Gaza.

More than 240 people were detained including the hospital's director, Dr. Hossam Abou Safiya.

The WHO confirmed the hospital was put out of service and key services were burned and destroyed.

Dr. Abou Safiya had been urging the international community to intervene before it was too late.

The UN reported Gaza's health system was on the verge of total collapse after at least 136 strikes on 27 hospitals.

The detention of Dr. Abou Safiya sparked international condemnation.

The Israeli army described the hospital as a bastion of terrorist organizations.

Hamas categorically denied any military presence in the hospital.

The Health Ministry said the Israeli army had set fire to all the hospital's surgical services.

Witnesses reported hundreds forced to seek refuge at nearby schools and hospitals.
