Gaza truce violated
Israeli forces killed three Palestinians over the past 24 hours in Gaza, including two police officers, in what Middle East Eye described as the latest violation of a ceasefire deal signed in October.
“Palestinian worker killed by Israeli fire in occupied West Bank Israeli forces wounded another near the town of al-Ram north of Jerusalem while attempting to cross separation wall into East Jerusalem in search of work Awad Rajoob 12 May 2026•Update: 12 May 2026 RAMALLAH, Palestine Israeli forces killed a Palestinian worker and wounded another Tuesday evening in the town of al-Ram in the central West Bank while they were attempting to cross a separation wall into occupied East Jerusalem”
The General Directorate of Police said an Israeli air strike targeted the vehicle of Wissam Abdel Hadi, director of the Khan Younis police investigations department, and Sergeant Fadi Heikal in the al-Amal neighbourhood, and Hamas said the targeting of Gaza’s police force is "a continuation of the enemy's crimes and terrorism against our Palestinian people".
Middle East Eye also reported that an Israeli drone targeted a gathering of citizens in al-Maghazi refugee camp, and that Israeli forces opened fire on displaced people north of the enclave and Gaza City while fishermen were wounded by Israeli naval shelling near the coast of Gaza City.
The same report said that since the ceasefire came into effect, at least 854 Palestinians have been killed and over 2,540 others have been wounded, according to the Health Ministry in Gaza.
Overall, Middle East Eye stated that Israeli forces killed more than 72,740 Palestinians since the start of Israel's "genocidal war on Gaza" in October 2023, with thousands more missing and presumed dead under the rubble.
West Bank raids
Across scattered areas of the occupied West Bank on Tuesday, clashes erupted between Palestinian youths and Israeli occupation forces as protests followed the Knesset’s approval of a law that would allow the death penalty for Palestinian prisoners, according to الجزيرة نت.
The report said Israeli forces raided towns and refugee camps in Nablus, Ramallah, and Jerusalem, with clashes breaking out around the Qalandia checkpoint north of occupied East Jerusalem where the checkpoint was completely closed to vehicle movement.

Itamar Ben-Gvir’s far-right Jewish Power party and Likud Knesset member Nissim Fattori were described as proposing the bill, and الجزيرة نت said the Knesset approved it by a 62-48 vote.
The law, as described by الجزيرة نت, would impose the death penalty by hanging on Palestinians convicted of killing Israelis while Israelis who kill Palestinians would be exempt, and it included "mandatory execution within 90 days of its final issuance".
The same article said more than 9,300 Palestinians are held in Israeli prisons, enduring harsh conditions with torture, starvation, and medical neglect reported by human rights organizations, leading to the deaths of dozens.
Wall crossings and deaths
Israeli forces also killed a Palestinian worker and wounded another while they attempted to cross a separation wall into occupied East Jerusalem in search of work, Anadolu Ajansı reported from the town of al-Ram north of Jerusalem.

Anadolu Ajansı said the Palestine Red Crescent Society transferred the body of a 47-year-old man to a hospital in Ramallah after he was shot in the head by Israeli forces while attempting to cross the separation wall in al-Ram, and it said another worker was transported after being shot in the foot.
WAFA Agency reported that the slain Palestinian was Zakaria Ali Mohammed Qadees, 44, and said the Palestine Red Crescent Society received the body of a man shot with live ammunition after he allegedly attempted to cross the apartheid wall built on the lands of Al-Ram town.
WAFA Agency added that the Ministry of Health later confirmed the killing of Zakaria Ali Mohammed Qadees, 44, by Israeli forces’ gunfire in Al-Ram.
Anadolu Ajansı further stated that Palestinians are shot near-daily around the separation wall surrounding East Jerusalem and along the boundary between the West Bank and Israel while attempting to cross in search of work inside the city or in Israel.
