More Than 30 Rockets From Lebanon Trigger Shelters In Northern Israel, Israeli Airstrike Kills Four

The Lebanese Ministry of Health reported four people killed and three injured in an Israeli airstrike that targeted the town of al-Rumadiyah in southern Lebanon, while Israeli military sources said the ground operation expanded to a depth of 14 kilometers inside Lebanon.

Israeli police said shrapnel fell in several locations in the Upper Galilee as a result of the latest rocket attack from Lebanon, noting material damage and reports of panic, and added that police teams and explosives experts were working to remove hazards and secure the sites.

In parallel, Hezbollah announced in two separate statements on Wednesday that its fighters targeted multiple Israeli settlements with rocket volleys in response to Israel's violation of the ceasefire, and it said the response would continue until the Israeli-American aggression against its country and people stops.

Hezbollah’s statements listed targets including Metulla, Kfar Giladi, Kiryat Shmona, Doviv, Shlomi, Metsuva, Ya'ara, Avdon–Kfar Faradim, Nahariya, and Shavei Zion, and in a second statement it said at 08:30 on Wednesday 2026-04-15 it targeted Doviv, Shlomi, Metsuva, Ya'ara, Avdon–Kfar Faradim, Nahariya, and Shavei Zion with rocket salvos.

The Jerusalem Post reported that Israel’s Tel Aviv District Court approved a one-time allocation of about NIS 200,000 from the Ida Abush public endowment to purchase laptops and essential equipment for children from low-income families in northern Israel and conflict-line communities.

In the same northern Israel context, the Al Jazeera report said the Israeli army announced it had detected the firing of 70 rockets from Lebanon since midnight, stressing that most of them were intercepted.

Al Jazeera also reported that an Israeli airstrike targeted the outskirts of the town of Rashaya al-Fakhhar and confirmed that the area around the town was subjected to Israeli shelling with cluster munitions.

Axios, as cited by L'Orient-Le Jour, said Israel is preparing a wide-scale ground invasion of Lebanon with the aim of seizing the entire area south of the Litani River and dismantling Hezbollah’s military infrastructure, and it added that this could be the largest Israeli ground invasion of Lebanon since 2006.

The same report said a senior Israeli official told Axios that before the attack they were prepared for a ceasefire in Lebanon, but after it there is no turning back in the face of a massive operation, and it quoted a U.S. official saying Israelis must do what they need to do to end Hezbollah’s fire.

L'Orient-Le Jour also reported that the Lebanese Health Ministry announced an Israeli strike on a health center in South Lebanon killed at least 12 medical workers, saying 12 doctors, paramedics and nurses on duty at the center were killed and another caregiver was wounded.

In addition, the report said the ministry’s emergency operations center announced the toll of the Israeli strike on the al-Rahibat neighborhood in Nabatieh Friday evening as five dead and five wounded, with searches for other potential victims ongoing.
