Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Bring Archie And Lilibet To UK In July

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are expected to bring their children, Archie, seven, and Lilibet, five, to the UK in July for the one-year countdown to the Invictus Games in Birmingham.

Sky News understands the trip will be the first time the children have been in the UK in four years, and it will follow the children’s last sight of their grandfather, the King, in person at the time of Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations in 2022.

BBC News understands the Duke and Duchess will be accompanied by Archie and Lilibet, and it is not yet known whether King Charles will meet his grandchildren on this visit.

The BBC also reports that Prince Harry has spoken previously about his desire to bring his two children back to his country of birth, while it remains unclear what the security arrangements for the visit will be.

Prince Harry’s return is tied to his ongoing security dispute, with Sky News noting that he had voiced concerns about safety amid his legal fight for security and that he has now been assured that adequate security supervision will be in place for the trip.

After Harry lost a Court of Appeal challenge against the Home Office over his security arrangements while in the UK in 2025, he told the BBC he hoped to reconcile with his family but said Charles would not speak to him because of his court battle over his security.

In a BBC interview last year, Prince Harry spoke of his desire for a "reconciliation" with the Royal Family, and the BBC reports that last September he met his father King Charles at Clarence House in London.

A government spokesperson told the BBC on Wednesday: "The UK government's protective security system is rigorous and proportionate."

The July visit is framed by multiple outlets as a milestone for the Sussex children’s relationship with King Charles, with Sky News saying it is not yet known if there are plans for King Charles to meet his youngest grandchildren during the trip.

HOLA reports that the King is eager to spend time with his grandchildren, Archie, 7, and Lilibet, 5, whom he has not seen in person since 2022, and it says the visit coincides with the one-year countdown to the Invictus Games Birmingham 2027.

HOLA also says there are currently no plans for Harry to meet Prince William, quoting HELLO! as saying, "There’s no communication there at present time and it’s very sad for all involved."

With the Invictus Games running from July 10 to 17, 2027, the BBC reports that next month will be one year to the start of the Invictus Games and that the prince founded the Invictus Games in London in 2014.
