In parallel, Qatar’s Foreign Ministry condemned the targeting of Kuwait with drones on 10 May 2026 as “a blatant violation of its sovereignty and a flagrant breach of the rules of international law.”

The Arab Parliament’s speaker, Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Yamahi, also condemned the drone attack targeting Kuwait as a “blatant violation of the country's sovereignty” and a “direct threat to regional security and stability.”

Escalation tied to Iran-U.S. war

A separate report framed the regional escalation as Iran sent its response to the latest U.S. proposal to end the Iran war via Pakistani mediators Sunday, while President Donald Trump quickly rejected it in a social media post as “TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE!”

That same report said the standoff in the Persian Gulf had “throttled shipping and sent energy prices soaring,” and it described the broader context as the U.S.-Israeli war on Iran.

That same UAE statement said the attacks were ongoing for 18 days and surpassed 2,000 ballistic missiles, cruise missiles and drones, and it cited United Nations Security Council Resolution 2817 co-sponsored by 136 countries calling Iran to halt the attacks immediately and unconditionally.

In a joint statement described by TRT عربي, foreign ministers from Turkey and 11 Islamic countries called on Iran to stop its attacks and condemned Israel’s aggression against Lebanon, urging Iran to immediately halt its attacks, respect international law and international humanitarian law, and activate diplomacy as a first step toward ending the escalation.

The TRT عربي report also said the ministers stressed the need for Iran to implement United Nations Security Council Resolution 2817 (2026), halt all attacks immediately, and refrain from any provocative actions or threats directed at neighboring states, including actions aimed to close or disrupt international navigation in the Strait of Hormuz or threaten maritime security in the Bab al-Mandab.
