Travelodge launched a fresh investigation after multiple women reported strangers accessing their hotel rooms.

Both came forward after a woman was sexually assaulted by Kyran Smith, who was given a key by staff.

Smith had lied to reception staff, telling them he was her boyfriend.

He had been at the same party as the woman before they retired to their rooms.

Staff told the woman Smith had passed their security checks by providing her name.

Smith was convicted and jailed for seven-and-a-half years.
