Trump threatens Iran again
President Donald Trump told reporters at the White House that the United States would attack Iran “very hard” if a peace deal is not finalized, saying “We’re going to be attacking them, attacking them very hard.”
Trump also said the United States has been taking oil out of Iran, adding “we’ve been taking out millions of barrels of oil, millions of barrels every night,” and he claimed “More than 200 Commercial Ships have safely travelled through the Strait.”

The United Nations nuclear watchdog’s 35-country Board of Governors approved a US-backed resolution demanding Iran declare its remaining enriched uranium stocks and allow inspectors verify them, with the resolution passed by 21 votes in favour, three against and 10 abstentions.
The Nightly said the move came within hours of the US and Iran trading military strikes, and it described Israeli and US attacks in June of last year that destroyed or badly damaged Iranian uranium-enrichment plants while leaving material “close to weapons-grade” thought to have survived.
The Nightly reported that the US-led resolution text said Iran should “provide the agency with complete information on nuclear material inventories” and grant the IAEA access it needs to verify that “without delay.”
Iran warns wider war
In response to Trump’s threats, the head of the national security commission in Iran’s parliament, Ebrahim Azizi, wrote on X that “this time, the war won't be limited to the region.”
CNBC quoted Trump saying “We hit them hard yesterday, and we're going to hit them hard again today,” as he pressed Tehran to sign a deal at a White House signing event for the Secure America Act.

CNBC reported that tensions escalated Tuesday after U.S. forces launched strikes against Iran in “response to yesterday's downing of a U.S. Army Apache helicopter.”
CNBC also said oil prices rose and U.S. stock futures fell after Trump’s comments, with U.S. crude climbing nearly 2% to $89.72 per barrel and Brent rising 1.3% to $92.74.
The Nightly added that Trump reiterated Iran will be hit on Wednesday and cited Iran’s downing of an Apache helicopter in the Strait of Hormuz as the reason.
Oil tanker attack and next steps
Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty reported that the US Central Command (CENTCOM) confirmed on June 10 it targeted a Palauan-flagged oil tanker, named Stabello, in the Sea of Oman on the evening of June 9 while, according to the United States, transporting oil from Iran in violation of the naval blockade.
RFE/RL said CENTCOM stated the crew failed to heed warnings from US forces and that a US military aircraft used guided munitions to target the ship's engine room and disable it, describing the action as the second such operation in two days.
RFE/RL reported that since the naval blockade began, US forces have disabled eight vessels deemed as “violators,” diverted 134 ships, and allowed 42 ships carrying humanitarian aid to pass.
In the same reporting, RFE/RL said the UN nuclear watchdog’s 35-nation board of governors approved a US-backed resolution demanding Iran declare its remaining stockpile of enriched uranium and allow inspectors into the country, and it described around 440 kilograms of uranium enriched to 60 percent purity as “enough to develop nuclear weapons.”
The Nightly said the US and Iran are in talks aimed at extending their ceasefire and paving the way for wider negotiations on issues including Iran’s nuclear program, while also noting Trump’s claim that Iran has already agreed to not obtaining a nuclear weapon but the agreement still needs to be signed.
