Nationwide Pay Boost

Youth Rates Rise Faster
The minimum wage for 18 to 20-year-olds was lifted by 8.5% to £10.85.
The increase is significantly larger than the adult wage rise.
Over 200,000 young workers are expected to benefit directly.
Business Concerns
Business groups warned the wage hike would push costs higher amid inflation.

Full-time workers on the new minimum would earn over £1,400 less per year.

Some young workers expressed relief at the pay boost.
