The victims were identified as Kamal Uddin, 39, his wife Jahan, 38, and Arowa, their 8-year-old daughter, and investigators found them slaughtered with a cleaver in the house.

The only survivor was Oion, the couple’s eldest son, 18, who was not at home when the killings occurred and later returned to see the killer trying to wipe blood from the floor and hiding the bodies under the bed.
Italian reporting also said the killings involved a mother, father, and a six-year-old daughter found dead with stab wounds in an apartment in the Aurelio district, with the cleaver seized.
Messages and manhunt
The Times of India reported that investigators focused on a social media post published on 25 June at 9.33 pm in which Shahadat Hossain wrote: “A man does not die alone” and “you should die with your loved ones when you die. So that no one has to suffer for anyone else”.
After the killings, the same article said one user replied: “You are a bad person. You are a Pharaoh”, as police launched a major manhunt for Shahadat Hossain.
The Times of India said the victims were found in a flat on Via Montiglio in the Aurelio district, in the Casalotti area, where a mother, father and their young daughter were killed, and it identified the father as Kamal Uddin, 39, his wife Arzu, 38, and their six-year-old daughter Alicia.
It also said the couple’s 18-year-old son, Onion, survived but was seriously injured and taken to Policlinico Gemelli hospital, while doctors said his condition was not believed to be life-threatening.
