  • The claims were contested by the First Lady's entourage, who deny the jealousy scene.
  • The incident centers on a 2025 Vietnam state visit and the airport slap moment.

Macron, Farahani, and a book

A controversy has followed the publication of the book 'An Almost Complete Couple,' which centers on Emmanuel Macron and his wife Brigitte and reports on their private messages involving Golshifteh Farahani.

Nearly a year ago, the door of the presidential aircraft, freshly arrived in Vietnam, opened to Brigitte Macron's hands on her husband's face

Florian Tardif, described as a journalist for Paris-Match and the author of the book, said in an interview with RTL France Radio that Brigitte had seen one of Golshifteh Farahani's messages on Emmanuel's phone.

In the same RTL account, Tardif said, "Even at that time there were rumors circulating in Paris," adding that the President had for several months a "platonic" relationship with the 42-year-old Iranian actress.

The Élysée Palace and Brigitte Macron herself have not yet reacted to the news, according to the dispatch in انصـاف نیوز.

The book’s release drew media attention in Iran International, which described Tardif as reporting on the relationship and the exchange of private messages between them.

Airport video and denials

The dispute traces back to a video recorded as Emmanuel and Brigitte Macron arrived in Vietnam, where Brigitte Macron was seen pushing her husband back with her hands at face level.

BFM reports that the scene dates back to May 25, 2025, at Hanoi's airport in Vietnam, and says the Élysée described it as 'a moment of complicity' and of 'chamaillerie' (raillery).

Florian Tardif told RTL that "What happened is that she saw a message from a well-known figure, an Iranian actress, Golshifteh Farahani," and said this led to tensions within the couple.

But BFMTV reports that the First Lady's entourage denies the account, saying Brigitte Macron has "categorically denied this account to the author, on March 5, specifying that she never looked into her husband's cellphone."

Sud Ouest similarly says the entourage denied any link between the actress and the gesture and explained that the First Lady does not check the president's phone, citing the March 5 denial.

What the book claims

BFM says Tardif asserts that there were 'messages that went quite far' such as 'I find you very pretty,' and that these messages "led to tensions within the couple," producing the private scene that became public.

Sud Ouest frames Tardif’s explanation on RTL as messages exchanged with Golshifteh Farahani that "bred tensions within the couple that led to this private scene that became public."

In the same Sud Ouest account, the entourage’s denial is tied to the claim that Brigitte Macron never looked at her husband's mobile phone, and it repeats that she denied the account directly to the author on March 5.

Across the coverage, the controversy remains linked to the May 2025 airport footage and to the book’s claim that the jealousy scene was connected to Golshifteh Farahani.
