Plot Thwarted at White House
The FBI thwarted a plot to attack the White House with snipers and drones on Trump’s birthday, and the U.S. Department of Justice said it arrested five men in a multistate operation.
“The FBI says it thwarted a plot to attack the White House with snipers and drones on Trump's birthday”
Prosecutors said part of the plan involved attacking nearby buildings with explosive-laden drones and firing at high-value targets, and the charging documents described ultrareligious and anti-government sentiments.

The suspects were identified as Tycen C Proper, 19, arrested in Ohio, along with Bryan Omar Roa, 24, and Michael Alan Thomas, 32, from California, Daniel K Eskridge, 32, from Missouri, and Abraham Hermosillo Alvarez, 31, from Nebraska.
The BBC reported that the FBI thwarted a plot against the UFC event on Sunday at the White House and that the White House hosted a series of UFC bouts at an outdoor stadium known as The Claw (La Garra) as part of the nation’s 250th anniversary.
In the same account, the BBC tied the event to Trump’s 80th birthday and said it took place two months after a shooting at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner, which he attended, and a month after Secret Service agents killed a man after opening fire at a White House checkpoint.
Mother’s Call and Detentions
The plot was uncovered through Proper’s mother, who called local authorities late on June 10, a few days before the event, after she said she was worried about the large purchases of firearms her son had made.
EL PAÍS reported that on June 7 a woman living in Danville, Ohio, decided to call the Knox County Sheriff's Office to report that her son was planning something, and it said the next day an FBI unit detained Proper and four other men aged between 24 and 32 in four states.

EL PAÍS said the detainees were allegedly attempting to target authorities and “high-value targets” who attended the wrestling show held last Sunday on the south lawn of the White House, in connection with the birthday of President Donald Trump.
The BBC said FBI director Kash Patel wrote on Tuesday on social media about the multistate operation, and it described the apparently planned attacks as having been stopped cold.
EL PAÍS quoted Dana White saying, “This type of events are the ones that bring out the crazy people; this is something normal,” after the UFC event on the White House south lawn.
Charges, Targets, and Fallout
Court documents cited by the BBC said the conspirators sought to sow panic and lure the fleeing crowd toward a squad of snipers, and a second wave of attackers was then supposed to burst through the White House entrance.
“A Mexican national who entered US as a child and later received protection under a programme introduced during Barack Obama's presidency has been identified by authorities as the alleged ringleader of a foiled attack plot targeting a UFC event at the White House”
The BBC also said prosecutors reported that the group reportedly had in mind potential targets including the U.S. president, Vice President JD Vance, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and Elon Musk, as well as several elected officials.
The Times of India described Abraham Alvarez as the alleged ringleader and said he was arrested in Nebraska, where investigators say he had established a base inside a former church building intended to serve as a “safe zone.”
In a statement released by the U.S. Attorney's Office, Special Agent in Charge Eugene Kowel of the FBI Omaha field office said, “From his home here in Nebraska, Alvarez allegedly directed and recruited others across the country to conduct a horrific attack against government officials in a mass casualty event,”.
The Times of India said the defendants face serious federal charges and could receive life sentences if convicted of conspiracy to commit murder, and it added they could face an additional prison term of up to five years for planning an act of violence on White House grounds.
