Hezbollah Drone Strikes Kill Israeli Soldier, Wound 12 in Southern Lebanon

An Israeli soldier was killed and more than a dozen others were wounded in the last 24 hours as the Israeli military fought against Hezbollah drone strikes, including attacks in southern Lebanon.

All Israel News said that on Thursday morning Sgt. Liem Ben Hamo, 19, of the Golani Brigade's 13th Battalion from Herzliya was killed in a double drone strike in southern Lebanon, with three other soldiers lightly wounded.

The same report said a strike targeting an artillery position at the border later hit a military vehicle and wounded twelve more soldiers.

All Israel News also said the IDF initially claimed it intercepted four of five drones, with one crossing the border and triggering sirens at Rosh Hanikra.

As Hezbollah attacks continued, the Israeli army reimposed restrictions on the home front, raising questions about how long the apparent ceasefire in Lebanon can last, according to All Israel News.

All Israel News reported that the Home Front Command tightened directives for the north on Friday, limiting gatherings to 200 people outdoors and 600 indoors in communities along the border.

The report also said schools and workplaces would only be allowed to operate inside a building or in a zone where a proper bomb shelter can be reached in time.

In parallel, All Israel News said the Israeli government is urging Washington to conclude negotiations with Lebanon within two to three weeks and to allow it to resume fighting Hezbollah if the talks do not yield meaningful results.
