Hezbollah drone attacks

Hezbollah carried out multiple attacks against Israeli occupation forces operating in southern Lebanon on Wednesday, and Israeli media reported that eight Israeli soldiers were injured in attacks involving Hezbollah drones targeting occupation forces in southern Lebanon.

The Israeli army later confirmed that one soldier was seriously wounded and three others lightly injured after an explosive device detonated against an Israeli force in southern Lebanon, and the occupation army spokesperson said the wounded soldiers were transferred to hospitals for treatment and their families were notified.

In the same reporting, Hezbollah announced that its fighters targeted a gathering of Israeli soldiers in the town of Aita al-Shaab using a drone strike that achieved a “direct hit,” and it also targeted gatherings of Israeli vehicles and soldiers in the towns of Rashaf and Adshit al-Qusayr using rocket barrages and artillery shelling.

Israeli media additionally reported sirens sounding in the settlement of Misgav Am amid fears of hostile drone infiltration from Lebanon, while Maariv warned that Hezbollah’s use of fiber-optic drones could eventually extend to the occupied West Bank and threaten settlements near the so-called seam line, Sharon region, and central occupied Palestine.

West Bank raids and injuries

In the occupied West Bank, Saba reported that a Palestinian youth was injured on Wednesday evening after being assaulted by Israeli occupation forces in the town of Huwwara south of Nablus, and it said the Palestinian Red Crescent transferred a 22-year-old man to hospital.

Saba also reported that in Tulkarm, Israeli forces stormed a café on Shuwayka Street, detained several young men, assaulted them during field interrogations, closed Shuwayka Street, and fired live ammunition and stun grenades toward civilians.

Separately, Ici Beyrouth said at least 14 Palestinians were injured on Tuesday during an Israeli military operation in Ramallah’s city center, and it said the Palestinian Red Crescent treated 14 injured people (7 by gunshot, 4 by rubber bullets, and 3 by shrapnel) along with 5 people suffering from gas inhalation, including two pregnant women.

Ici Beyrouth added that Israeli soldiers were deployed mainly around al-Manara Square near the market, that Palestinian youths began throwing stones at the soldiers after the operation began, and that the Israeli army confirmed to AFP that an operation was underway with no further details about its objective.

Legal fallout and Gaza-linked stakes

In the UK, BBC reported that four Palestine Action activists were found guilty of criminal damage at a UK site of an Israel-based defence firm, and it said Charlotte Head, Samuel Corner, Leona Kamio, and Fatema Rajwani broke into an Elbit Systems factory near Bristol in August 2024 before destroying property and clashing with security guards and police.

The BBC said the prosecutor, Deanna Heer KC, told the court: "Inside the warehouse, they set about destroying as much property as they could," and it reported that an estimated £1m worth of damage was caused during the raid.

The BBC also said the group aimed to destroy what they believed were combat drones and other military equipment that would be used by the Israeli Defence Forces in Gaza, while Elbit Systems UK consistently denied supplying the Israeli army with weapons.

In parallel, Le Monde described Birzeit University in the occupied West Bank remaining in shock a week after Israeli army gunfire against students, and it quoted a university spokesperson saying, "They threatened to intervene, explaining that this gathering presented a political and national dimension," after the army contacted the university to demand a ceremony be banned.
