Hezbollah strikes in south
On Monday, May 11, 2026, the Islamic Resistance said it carried out attacks in southern Lebanon in response to what it described as “Israeli” violations of a ceasefire and attacks on villages in the area.
“The Islamic Resistance issued the following statements on Monday, May 11, 2026: In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful {Permission to fight back is hereby granted to those being fought, for they have been wronged”
In one statement, the group said its fighters targeted at 6:10 p.m. an “Israeli” force positioned inside a house in Baydar Al-Faqaani in the village of Taybeh with an offensive drone, scoring a confirmed hit.

The same statement said fighters targeted at 6:20 p.m. the “Israeli” force in Baydar Al-Faqaani in Taybeh for a second time with an offensive drone, also scoring a confirmed hit.
It added that at 6:30 p.m. fighters targeted an “Israeli” support force backing the previously targeted unit in Baydar Al-Faqaani in Taybeh for the second time with an offensive drone, and that a hostile helicopter later intervened to evacuate casualties under heavy smoke and fire cover.
In another attack described in the same set of statements, the Islamic Resistance said it targeted at 3:15 p.m. a gathering of “Israeli” troops and vehicles in the village of Rchaf with a barrage of rockets.
Ceasefire claims and chronology
A separate report from Saba said the Islamic Resistance in Lebanon announced it targeted, on Wednesday, three gatherings, a Namera armored vehicle, a D9 bulldozer, and a military vehicle belonging to the Israeli enemy army in occupied southern Lebanon.
Saba framed the actions as being carried out “in defense of Lebanon and its people” and “in response to the Israeli enemy's violation of the ceasefire,” describing “civilian martyrs and wounded” as part of “Operation Protective Edge.”

In statement number 1, Saba said fighters targeted at 2:00 AM on Wednesday, May 13, 2026 a gathering of Israeli enemy soldiers between Wadi al-Uyun and the town of Sarbin with a rocket barrage.
In statement number 2, Saba said fighters targeted at 6:00 AM on Wednesday, May 13, 2026 an Israeli enemy army Namera armored vehicle in the Wadi al-Uyun area with a guided missile, achieving a direct hit.
In statement number 3, Saba said fighters targeted at 8:30 AM on Wednesday, May 13, 2026 an Israeli enemy army D9 bulldozer at Khallat al-Raj in the town of Deir Siryan with a swoop-down attack.
Wider axis and Hezbollah
Radio France described an “Axis of Resistance” that included Hezbollah in Lebanon and said the alliance’s end was tied to Israel’s actions, including an airstrike against Iran on June 12 of last year and Tehran’s retaliation “but alone!”
The same Radio France account said Hezbollah was “based on the southern border just a stone's throw from Israel” and described Iran’s decision in 1982 to arm and train a Shiite militia, “the Lebanese Hezbollah,” while Israel occupied the south of Lebanon.
Le Monde described Hezbollah as “created in 1982 with the help of Iranian Revolutionary Guards” and said its leader Hassan Nasrallah was killed on September 27, 2024 in an Israeli strike on his ultra-secure headquarters in the Beirut suburb.
Le Monde also said that near the graves, “portraits of 26 young Lebanese were laid,” and that all belonged to a Hezbollah territorial unit decimated in late November 2024 as it tried to block the advance of an Israeli column.
Le Monde concluded that Hezbollah’s “subjugation” and the collapse of Tehran’s network left Iran “since June 13” under Israeli fire, “determined to methodically destroy Iran's nuclear facilities and its military and security apparatus.”
