Threat of retaliation
Iran warned it would deliver a “heavy and regretful response” if any provision of a memorandum of understanding is violated, with Brigadier General Seyyed Majid Ebnolreza making the remarks during a phone conversation with Pakistan’s Defense Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif on Sunday.
“Brigadier General Seyyed Majid Ebnolreza made the remarks during a phone conversation with Pakistan’s Defense Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif on Sunday, as the two sides discussed bilateral ties, regional developments and the implementation of the landmark agreement that ended the US‑Israeli war of aggression against Iran”
The call came days after the MoU was finalized on June 19, as Iran’s Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf was holding follow-up talks with America in Switzerland, according to Mehr News Agency.

Mehr News Agency said the agreement, brokered by Pakistan, brought an immediate end to military operations on all fronts, including Lebanon, and lifted the US naval blockade of Iran.
Mehr News Agency also reported that General Ebnolreza emphasized Iran’s armed forces have not lowered their guard, adding, “and in the event of any violation of the provisions of the memorandum, there will be a heavy and regretful response.”
Regional security belt
In the same phone conversation, Iran renewed its proposal for a “Regional Security Belt of the Islamic World,” involving countries such as Iran, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Egypt and other Muslim states, to confront Israeli aggression and establish lasting stability.
Mehr News Agency said Pakistan’s defense minister praised Iran’s resistance, describing the Iranian people and armed forces as “a rock standing against aggression” and vowing that the nature of their struggle “will be recorded in history.”

Islam Times similarly described Brigadier General Majid Ebn al-Reza thanking Pakistan’s government and armed forces for constructive positions in support of Iran, while also repeating that Iran’s Armed Forces have never trusted an unreliable enemy.
Islam Times added that the caretaker defense minister announced Tehran’s readiness to hold consultations with regional countries on the initiative, while Khawaja Muhammad Asif welcomed the proposal and hoped that after stabilization of regional conditions a new chapter of bilateral cooperation would begin.
Pezeshkian praises resistance
Separately, PressTV reported that President Masoud Pezeshkian praised Iran’s Armed Forces for an “epic” of sacrifice and resistance throughout the latest bout of unprovoked aggression targeting the nation.
“WANA (Jun 22) –Iran’s Acting Minister of Defense and Armed Forces Logistics, in a telephone conversation with Pakistan’s Defense Minister, emphasized that despite recent agreements, Iran’s armed forces do not trust unreliable adversaries and would respond forcefully to any breach of commitments”
PressTV quoted Pezeshkian saying, “Our enemies had believed that through their aggression, they could bring the Islamic Republic to an end within three days,” and added that Iran’s Armed Forces, including the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps and the Army, thwarted enemy plans.
PressTV said the president was referring to back-to-back defensive and retaliatory maneuvers in the face of American-Israeli aggression that targeted the Islamic Republic from February 28 to April 7, with April 7 described as the date Donald Trump announced a unilateral ceasefire.
PressTV also reported that Pezeshkian credited Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei’s guidance and leadership for the dignity and pride Iran enjoyed today, and concluded by warning, “The truth is that in unity we possess unparalleled strength.”
