Trump, Washington, and internet
Iran International reported that U.S. President Donald Trump reposted a Truth Social post criticizing some media outlets over the war with Iran, writing, "If Iran surrenders, accepts destroying its naval and air forces, withdraws its forces from Tehran, and its officials sign surrender documents" then the media would describe it as a victory for Iran.
In the same live coverage, Washington denied resuming ship escorts in the Strait of Hormuz, and American sources told Al Arabiya that reports of resuming aid operations in the Strait of Hormuz were false.
Iran International also said NetBlocks, via its X account, reported that the level of internet connectivity in Iran rose to 86 percent, while "filtered internet" remains in place and WhatsApp is restricted.
The report added that the Iranian telecommunications company announced that international internet service has returned fully to its subscribers, and Cetna advised subscribers to reboot their modems if they encounter any trouble accessing the internet.
Regional diplomacy and threats
Iran International reported that the Iranian president Masoud Bezkian conducted telephone calls with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Azerbaijani Ilham Aliyev, Egyptian Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, Qatari Emir Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Omani Sultan Haitham bin Tariq, and Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim to discuss developments in the Middle East.
The same live coverage said Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar commented on a post attributed to Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei that included threats to Israel’s existence on X, saying, "Looks familiar. I recall that someone with the same surname used to say these things before."
Shafaq News placed the IRGC navy statement hours after a statement by the Iranian Parliament's political affairs adviser Amir Ibrahim Rasouli, who said that the Americans have retreated considerably while affirming the need to implement the 14 steps, including a ceasefire on all fronts and boosting confidence.
Mehr News Agency framed the IRGC navy’s message as a response posture, adding that "Smart control of the Strait of Hormuz is being carried out with might and any aggression will be responded to with crushing blows."
