West Bank arrests
In the southern occupied West Bank city of Hebron, the Israeli army arrested seven Palestinians from the Salhab family on Wednesday after they confronted assaults carried out by settlers, according to Anadolu Ajansı.
“Amid the rubble, debris, and dust, rescue workers from the Civil Defense in the Gaza Strip are struggling to reach the bodies of the family of the child Mohammed, who were martyred in a strike by the Israeli occupation army on the night the ceasefire was announced on October 9, 2025”
Anadolu Ajansı said Israeli settlers attacked Palestinian lands in the Wadi al-Mughir area south of Hebron and let their livestock roam in Palestinian fields and agricultural lands before their owners intervened, and that an Israeli army unit entered the area to provide protection for the settlers and arrested the seven.

The Palestinian News Agency (WAFA), as cited by Anadolu Ajansı, named the detainees as Hamid Abdul Salam Salhab and his son Hammam, the brothers Ahmad and Mohammad Salhab, Anas Mahmoud Salhab, and the brothers Salah al-Din and Dia al-Din Mohammad Salhab.
Anadolu Ajansı also reported that the Palestinian Authority’s Committee for the Resistance to the Wall and Settlements documented 1,637 attacks in April, with the committee saying the Israeli army carried out 1,097 attacks and settlers carried out 540, mainly concentrated in the Nablus Governorate with 402 attacks and the Hebron Governorate with 340 attacks.
Journalists killed
During the war between Israel and Gaza, the BBC said the Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ) estimates that about 192 journalists have been killed since October 7, 2023, and that at least 178 of those journalists are Palestinians killed by Israel.
The BBC reported that five Al Jazeera journalists, including Anas al-Sharif, were killed on Sunday, August 10, in a targeted Israeli strike near Gaza’s Al-Shifa Hospital, with the television channel saying they were inside a tent reserved for journalists at the main entrance when it was struck.
The BBC described how Sharif, aged 28, was born in the densely populated Jabalia area in the north of the Gaza Strip and had been working for Al Jazeera for about two years, according to the network.
In a post on X after the announcement of his death, the BBC quoted a message that appeared to have been drafted in advance and posted by a friend: “If you receive these words, know that Israel has managed to kill me and silence my voice.”
Bodies under rubble
In Gaza, Al-Jazeera Net described a case in which rescue workers from the Civil Defense in the Gaza Strip struggled to reach the bodies of the family of the child Mohammed after a strike by the Israeli occupation army on the night the ceasefire was announced on October 9, 2025.
“How many journalists were killed during the war between Israel and Gaza, and who were they”
Al-Jazeera Net said a video clip published today, Saturday, by the Civil Defense spokesperson in the Gaza Strip, Mahmoud Basal, documented the efforts to retrieve the family’s bodies, and that Basal stated Mohammed’s siblings and other relatives have remained under the rubble of the destroyed home since then.
Al-Jazeera Net reported that under the rubble there are about 40 people from the Ghbon family, and that the Civil Defense had so far managed to rescue two women under extremely difficult rescue conditions amid a shortage of the resources necessary to lift the rubble.
Basal estimated the number of those still under the rubble at about 8,500 martyrs, and Al-Jazeera Net said he issued a call to the world stressing the humanitarian and moral duty to protect the children of Gaza facing the ongoing war on the sector.
