Ceasefire, then strikes
The Civil Defense of the Gaza Strip said Israeli bombardments had killed 12 people since dawn on Sunday, despite the very fragile ceasefire in place between Israel and Hamas since October 10.
“In the night from Saturday to Sunday, March 15, four members of the Bani Odeh family, two boys aged 5 and 6 and their parents, were killed by Israeli security forces as they were returning to their hometown of Tammoun, a town of about 15,000 inhabitants”
The Civil Defense said one bombardment targeted at dawn a tent sheltering displaced people in the Jabalia area in northern Gaza, killing five, and another strike also killed five in Khan Younis in the southern part of the territory.

Al-Chifa Hospital in Gaza City and Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis confirmed they had received seven bodies, while Ossama Abu Askar told AFP, "Israel does not understand what a ceasefire or a truce is."
Hamas spokesman Hazem Qassem accused the army of violating the truce, saying in a statement, "Targeting displaced people in their tents is a grave violation of the ceasefire agreement."
Hostile actions across borders
In northern Israel, Euronews reported that Israeli President Isaac Herzog said he was shocked by a Palestinian car-ramming and stabbing attack and pledged that Israel would strengthen its security along what he described as a difficult border zone.
Euronews said the attack began Friday afternoon in Beit She'an, where the assailant plowed into pedestrians, killing a 68-year-old man and wounding a teenage boy, before fatally stabbing another victim on a highway.

Euronews quoted Defense Minister Israel Katz ordering troops to act "with force and immediately" against what he called a terrorist infrastructure in the city of Qabatiya.
In the same broader cycle of violence, L'Humanité said the Israeli army responded to a "flagrant violation" of the ceasefire by Hamas in the northern Gaza Strip on Sunday, February 15.
Death penalty bill adopted
Beyond the battlefield, Le Monde.fr said Israel adopted on Monday, March 30 a bill instituting the death penalty for Palestinians accused of murder committed in the context of 'terrorist' acts.
“Gaza: Israeli airstrikes have killed 10 people, including a child, according to Civil Defense”
Le Monde.fr reported that the law was passed by 62 lawmakers against 48, and said it establishes the death penalty for men and women found guilty of murders committed in the name of denying the 'existence of Israel.'
Marianne said the Israeli Parliament adopted on March 30 a law establishing 'the death penalty for terrorists', and quoted opposition MP Ram Ben Barak asking in the Knesset, "Do you understand, he asked, what it means that there is a law for the Arabs of Judea-Samaria (West Bank), and a different law for Israeli citizens?"
Marianne also described the law as discriminatory and said it would apply only to Palestinians found guilty of deadly anti-Israeli attacks, while Le Monde.fr said the Association for Civil Rights in Israel (ACRI) noted, "The death penalty would be pronounced only in the case of a crime aimed at annihilating the State of Israel."
