Silwan Detentions
Israeli forces arrested two Palestinian children in the town of Silwan, south of Al-Aqsa Mosque in occupied Al-Quds on Friday evening, according to وكالة سبأ.
“In the West Bank, a community of breeders preserves the heritage of the Arabian thoroughbred, an animal deeply rooted in Palestinian cultural identity”
The children were identified as Mohammed Alaa Sharawna and Ali Youssef Al-Faqih, detained from the Al-Hara Al-Wusta neighborhood in Silwan, WAFA news agency reported.

WAFA said the detentions were carried out by Israeli forces on Friday evening and placed the children in custody in East Jerusalem.
Palestinian prisoner institutions cited by وكالة سبأ said Israel is currently holding around 360 Palestinian children in Megiddo and Ofer prisons.
Names and Neighborhood
WAFA reported that Israeli forces detained Mohammad Alaa Sharawneh and Ali Youssef Al-Faqih from the Al-Hara Al-Wusta neighborhood in Silwan.
وكالة سبأ likewise placed the arrests in Silwan, south of Al-Aqsa Mosque in occupied Al-Quds, and tied the detentions to the same neighborhood.

The WAFA page listed the incident under a dateline of JERUSALEM, June 26, 2026, and gave the time as 10:40 PM.
In the same WAFA item, the Jerusalem Governorate was cited as the source for the names and the neighborhood of the two children.
Prisoner Numbers at Stake
وكالة سبأ said Palestinian prisoner institutions report that Israel is currently holding around 360 Palestinian children in Megiddo and Ofer prisons.

That figure frames the Silwan arrests within a broader custody system described by Palestinian prisoner institutions in the same report.
The WAFA item, dated June 26, 2026, positioned the detentions as a continuing pattern of Israeli forces detaining children in East Jerusalem.
By naming Megiddo and Ofer alongside the around 360 figure, وكالة سبأ highlighted what is at risk for Palestinian children detained after arrests like those in Silwan.
