The Middle East Monitor reported that a Palestinian was injured and two others were arrested Saturday as the Israeli army carried out raids across several areas of the occupied West Bank, accompanied by occupiers’ attacks and the closure of roads and town entrances.

The same Middle East Monitor account said the latest incidents came a day after Israeli forces arrested 10 Palestinians from the village of Burqa, east of Ramallah, and burned about 10 dunams (2.5 acres) of olive groves.

A farmer barred from land

Nidal Walid Rabee returned to Turmusayya to till his father’s land and plant it, but he said he is barred from reaching his land because of the aggression of Israeli settlers and the Israeli army.

Rabee told Arab 48, "This is my land, I look at it every day, but I cannot reach it," describing how his access is blocked by restrictions and rising assaults by Israeli settlers.

An Anadolu Agency report similarly placed Rabee on a hilltop overlooking the plains of Turmusayya in Ramallah, and it quoted him saying, "This is my land, I look at it every day, but I cannot reach it."

The Anadolu account said settler attacks in Turmusayya escalated in recent months to include razing agricultural lands and uprooting trees under the protection of Israeli forces.

Numbers of attacks and losses

Rabee’s account tied the shrinking of his land to bulldozing and tree uprooting, saying the assaults included bulldozing about 10 dunams and uprooting olive trees more than 20 years old.

In the Arab 48 account, Rabee said the olive trees "yield around 40 barrels of olive oil" before adding, "but today they yield nothing," and he said "70% of his land"—estimated at around 60 dunams—was lost or made inaccessible.

The Anadolu Agency report likewise quantified losses, saying attacks included razing about 10 dunams and uprooting olive trees over 20 years old that produced roughly 40 gallons of olive oil, and it quoted Rabee: "But today they produce nothing."

The Anadolu report also cited the Wall and Settlements Resistance Commission, saying the occupied West Bank saw 1,819 attacks in March, including 1,322 attacks carried out by Israeli forces and 497 by settlers.
