Israeli Forces Kill Palestinian Ramming Attacker Near Gush Etzion Junction, Injuring Three Israelis

A car ramming attack at the Gush Etzion junction in the West Bank injured three Israelis, with Magen David Adom saying its crews provided first aid and noting that two were in serious condition and the third in moderate condition.

The Israeli army said its forces killed the Palestinian who carried out the ramming at the Gush Etzion junction, and occupation authorities closed Highway 60 near the junction to traffic with broad security deployment in the area.

Haaretz reported that two Israeli teens were severely and moderately wounded in a car ramming attack at a major West Bank intersection, and said the IDF described it as a ramming attack.

Ynetnews said the terrorist was a resident of Hebron and was neutralized by a soldier from the Kfir Brigade’s 90th Battalion, after a vehicle struck pedestrians near the junction in the direction of Kiryat Arba.

Yaron Rosenthal, head of the Gush Etzion Regional Council, arrived at the scene and called it “a difficult attack,” saying “A terrorist tried to run over a group of boys and girls,” and that “The terrorist was eliminated very quickly by army forces.”

The Jerusalem Post said paramedics provided treatment to three wounded, including two in serious condition who remain conscious, and reported that one 17-year-old girl was transferred to Shaare Zedek Medical Center in serious condition with injuries to her limbs.

Haaretz framed the incident as an IDF-described car ramming attack at a major West Bank intersection, and said two Israeli teens were severely and moderately wounded.

The Jerusalem Post added that Israel Police and the military were conducting additional searches in the area to rule out the possibility of other suspects being present at the scene of the attack.

Al-Jazeera Net linked the West Bank escalation to the broader war, saying the West Bank has, since the start of the Israeli war on Gaza on October 7, 2023, witnessed an escalation in attacks by the army and settlers.

It further stated that the escalation in the West Bank has resulted in the martyrdom of 1,168 Palestinians and injuries to 12,666 others, in addition to the arrest of about 23,000 and the displacement of 33,000, according to data published by the Palestinian Government Information Office on May 26.

In a separate report, La patrie news described a knife and ram-vehicle attack in the Beisan region in northern occupied Palestine that left three people dead and six wounded among Israeli settlers, and said Hamas described the operation as “the expression of a popular anger accumulated in response to the daily crimes of the Zionist occupation.”

La patrie news also warned that Hamas “stresses that history has shown the Palestinians’ deep attachment to resistance as long as the occupation endures,” placing the incident in a context of ongoing genocide in Gaza as described in its account.
