WAFA said the Jerusalem Governorate reported that occupation forces stormed the vocational training institute opposite the camp and fired a barrage of tear gas, stun grenades, and live ammunition, resulting in a serious head injury.

In the same Qalandia area, WAFA dated the incident to Monday, May 11, 2026, and placed it in Jerusalem, north of occupied Jerusalem.

Ambulance blocked

An ambulance officer with the Palestinian Red Crescent Society told Al Jazeera that after they arrived they found a young man bleeding from his head, and said they approached the army to help the wounded.

The officer said the Israeli army intercepted them by firing tear gas, sound bombs, and live bullets, adding, "and they shattered the mirror of our vehicle."

Al Jazeera also said the occupation forces fired live bullets at journalists and prevented them from approaching the vicinity of the training institute, where a young man was being detained inside.

UN News described the broader pattern in the West Bank as a spike in deadly incidents, urging Israeli authorities to put an end to summary executions on the occupied Palestinian territory.

Wider violence and schooling

UN News said the UN human rights office denounced a series of 'senseless' summary executions and insisted, "We must end these senseless massacres," while calling on Israel to bring "all those responsible" to justice.

The UN News account also said that UNRWA reported its schools in East Jerusalem remained "desperately empty" a week after their closure imposed by Israeli forces, with nearly 800 students deprived of schooling.

UNRWA’s Director of Operations for the West Bank, Roland Friedrich, said, "Schools that have provided education for decades are now silent, and the daily lives of these children have been disrupted," and added that Israeli forces returned to the Shu'fat camp facilities by force to verify no educational activity was taking place.

In the Qalandia raid coverage, WAFA and Al Jazeera both tied the violence to the vocational training institute near the camp, with WAFA describing a barrage of tear gas, stun grenades, and live ammunition and Al Jazeera describing tear gas canisters, sound bombs, and live bullets.
