Masked Gunmen Kill One, Injure Six in New Jersey Chick-fil-A Shooting

A mass shooting at a Chick-fil-A restaurant in Union Township left one person dead and six others injured.

The Union County Prosecutor's Office said police responded around 9 p.m. and found seven victims.

Authorities said the shooting did not appear to be a random act of violence.

Witnesses described masked gunmen storming the restaurant and opening fire from behind the food counter.

Gov. Mikie Sherrill expressed her thoughts for those injured and their families.

No suspects were detained as the investigation remained active.

A reward of up to $10,000 was offered for information leading to an indictment and conviction.

Chick-fil-A employees were still inside after 11 p.m. while family members waited outside.

The shooting marked the 100th mass shooting documented in the US this year.

Union Township has a population of about 60,000.

A father of an employee said his son called in a panic about masked suspects.

Several co-workers were injured in the shooting.

A Lyft driver heard at least seven gunshots.

Dashcam footage captured a masked person fleeing the scene.

The prosecutor's office said the shooting did not appear to be random.
