Gottumukkala studied computer science at Texas A&M University, where he completed his bachelor’s degree between 2017 and 2021.

Before university, he attended the Texas Academy of Mathematics and Science, a selective early-college programme designed for high-performing students in science and mathematics.

His academic path reflects a strong focus on engineering and technical disciplines from an early stage.

Gottumukkala announced on Sunday that he would be joining xAI, the artificial intelligence company founded by Elon Musk, to work on the next generation of coding AI, with collaboration from teams connected to SpaceX.

The company focuses on developing advanced AI models and systems that aim to compete with leading AI labs around the world.

He said his work at xAI will focus on building coding AI tools to assist developers and automate complex programming tasks.
