Despite concerns being raised about his behavior, including sitting children on his lap for extended periods and wearing trousers with holes in the crotch area, the abuse continued until his arrest and the subsequent closure of the nursery.

Additionally, Bennett had previously admitted to 13 other charges relating to four of the same victims, who were two years old at the time of the abuse.
