Mamdani Lifts TikTok Ban
New York City lifted its multi-year TikTok ban on government-owned devices.

The ban had been established in 2023 by former Mayor Eric Adams, who cited security concerns over ByteDance.
The reversal comes after Congress passed a bill requiring ByteDance to transfer its U.S. division to a U.S.-based owner.
Use Allowed on Dedicated Devices
Agencies can use TikTok but only on dedicated, government-issued devices.
These devices do not contain sensitive or restricted data and cannot be used for email or internal systems.
Communications teams must have specific designated TikTok-using agents.
