The same report said Naqvi, who serves as mediator between Tehran and Washington, would meet tomorrow, Sunday, with senior Iranian officials including Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi.

AL24 News said Naqvi arrived in Tehran carrying a private and “important” message from Asim Munir and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

AL24 News reported that Naqvi told his Iranian counterpart Iskandar Mo’meni that he carries an important message addressing “the current developments,” and that Pakistan hopes the crises will end soon through the efforts of Shehbaz Sharif and Asim Munir.

AL24 News added that the Pakistani interior minister arrived as part of Islamabad’s efforts to “de-escalate tensions between Iran and the United States,” with plans for him to meet Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi to discuss bilateral and regional issues.

The report also said Naqvi was scheduled to meet Abbas Araghchi “today” after arriving in Tehran “last night.”

PressTV quoted Araghchi saying, “These compassionate guidances will undoubtedly serve as a solid foundation for safeguarding national honor, protecting the rights of the great Iranian nation, and responsibly advancing the ideals of the Islamic Revolution,” and said he made the remarks during the solemn days of Ashura.

PressTV also described a memorandum of understanding signed remotely by Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian and US President Donald Trump, calling for a permanent end to hostilities across all fronts and the removal of the US naval blockade within 30 days.
