Senator Rosen Blasts Trump Economy for Hurting Nevada Tourism and Families

Senator Jacky Rosen launched a comprehensive critique of President Trump's economic policies just hours before his Las Vegas visit.

Rosen blamed Trump for rising costs, declining tourism, and a struggling gaming industry in Nevada.

She said health care costs are skyrocketing and Trump is doing nothing to address the problem.

Rosen argued that Trump's tax plan, which includes provisions that tax gambling losses, is contributing to decreased visitation numbers in Las Vegas.

Not counting the pandemic, 2025 saw the biggest decline in visitation to Las Vegas in over 50 years.

Trump's visit came amid a sharp tourism slowdown in Las Vegas.

Visitation fell 7.5% in 2025 to roughly 38.5 million people -- its lowest since 2021.

Democratic lawmakers dubbed the downturn the Trump slump.

Trump was promoting the No Tax on Tips policy included in the One Big Beautiful Bill.
