“Iran War News: UN Secretary-General says the situation may get out of control António Guterres, the UN Secretary-General, on Friday condemned the illegal attacks across the Middle East and warned that with the regional war continuing in several countries, the situation may get out of control”
The RFI account says Tehran was under the heaviest bombardment by the United States and Israel, and it also states that the French aircraft carrier Charles de Gaulle entered the Mediterranean to support citizens and allies against attacks by Iran in the Middle East.

RFI further reports that the White House released a 42-second video blending scenes from Hollywood films with actual attacks on Iran, posted on X under the title Justice the American Way.
In the same RFI report, legal scholars are quoted through a professor at the University of Reading, Marco Milovanovic, who said that striking a military vessel is not a war crime.
RFI also says Rachel VanLindenham, professor at Southwestern Law School and a retired U.S. Air Force colonel, told AP that the ship’s location far from the war zone or its presence in a joint exercise does not affect the legality of the attack.
Weapons production and funding
RFI reports that the Trump administration will host senior executives of major U.S. defense companies at the White House on Friday to discuss speeding up weapons production, while Mehr News Agency, citing Al Jazeera, says Trump plans a meeting with senior executives of the largest U.S. weapons manufacturers.
Mehr News Agency, citing Reuters, says companies such as Lockheed Martin and RTX, the parent company of Raytheon, and other major U.S. weapons suppliers have been invited, and it says the U.S. government will seek to encourage faster steps to increase production.

Mehr News Agency also states that Steven Feinberg, the Deputy Secretary of Defense, announced that the Pentagon has requested supplementary funding of about $50 billion to compensate for damages caused by the war.
The Mehr News Agency account adds that the Center for a New American Security put the daily operating cost of a strike group aircraft carrier, such as the USS Gerald R. Ford, at about $6.5 million.
In the same Mehr News Agency report, it says at least three American fighters were shot down on Monday in Kuwait.
Ceasefire pressure and nuclear stakes
The Gulf newspaper account says Trump told reporters at the White House on Monday that the ceasefire is on life support with a 1% chance of survival, and it adds that Trump said Americans’ financial difficulties do not factor into his decision-making as he pursues negotiations to end the confrontation with Iran.
“Reuters reported on June 5 that U”
In that same account, White House Communications Director Steven Cheung is quoted saying Iran cannot have a nuclear weapon, and it says the administration’s focus is on preventing Tehran from obtaining a nuclear weapon.
The Gulf newspaper account also reports that on Monday, Iran’s parliament’s top negotiator Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf warned the United States to accept the terms in Iran’s 14-point proposal to end the war in the Middle East or face ‘failure,’ and it says he told X that there is no alternative but to accept the rights of the Iranian people as laid out in the 14-point proposal.
Separately, Vietnam.vn, citing Reuters on June 5, says Trump stated that Iranian nuclear sites had been heavily damaged by previous air strikes, making access to remaining nuclear materials and their extraction extremely difficult.
Vietnam.vn quotes Trump saying, "The only two countries capable of extracting them are the United States and China," and it adds that the International Atomic Energy Agency is currently unable to verify the status and location of Iran's enriched uranium stocks accurately due to its inability to access the facilities that were attacked.
