Footage of school strike
A video released by the Iranian news agency Mehr was geolocated to Minab by the investigative collective Bellingcat.
“A video has shown a US Tomahawk missile hitting the Iranian naval base next to a primary school in Minab where more than 168 people, mostly children, were killed – adding to evidence that indicates the US was responsible for the school strike”
That video, together with videos verified by the Guardian, photos and satellite imagery, shows a missile striking an Iranian naval compound adjacent to Shajareh Tayyebeh primary school on the morning of 28 February, when US-Israeli strikes on Iran began.

The attack demolished roughly half the school and killed more than 168 people, mostly children, including scores of seven- to 12-year-old girls who were attending morning classes.
The new footage and other evidence indicate the US was responsible for the school strike.
Tomahawk strike analysis
Munitions experts cited in the article identify the weapon in the footage as a Tomahawk missile.
NR Jenzen-Jones, director of Armament Research Services, said the video shows a Tomahawk missile striking a target.

He said that, given the belligerents, this indicates a US strike because Israel is not known to possess Tomahawk missiles.
Jenzen-Jones added that the munition is clearly not an Iranian Soumar, which has a distinctive external engine on its underside.
Satellite imagery shows at least four buildings were hit in the strikes: the school and three buildings in the adjacent Islamic Revolutionary Guards (IRGC) naval compound.
The report notes the school had been walled off from the IRGC complex for at least eight years and displayed clear markers of being an educational building, including playing fields and colourful wall murals.
Reactions to school bombing
The evidence described in the article directly contradicts statements by the US president, Donald Trump, who said, "In my opinion, based on what I've seen, that was done by Iran," and offered no evidence for that claim.

US military spokespeople have said they are "investigating" the strike.
Unesco described the school bombing as a "grave violation" of international law, and Human Rights Watch has called for it to be investigated as a war crime.
