About this campaign

The single sentence: Foreign offices and foreign embassies in Occupied Palestine have legal obligations under the Geneva Conventions, the Convention Against Torture, and the Convention on the Rights of the Child. They used those obligations to demand the release of one set of hostages. This campaign asks them to apply the standard evenly to the other.

The numbers, sourced. Around 9,600 Palestinians are currently held in Israeli prisons (Palestinian Detainees Commission, PPS and Addameer, April 2026). 3,532 in administrative detention without charge or trial. Approximately 350 children. 86 women. 310 health workers detained from Gaza since 7 October 2023. 94 documented deaths in custody (UN Special Rapporteur on Torture, May 2026; B'Tselem records 84 verified as of January 2026, with 80 bodies still withheld from families).

The UN finding, on the record. The UN Committee Against Torture, 28 November 2025: a 'de facto State policy of organized and widespread torture and ill-treatment', 'gravely intensified since 7 October 2023'. The Committee documented severe beatings, dog attacks, electrocution, waterboarding, prolonged stress positions and sexual violence.
