Authorities said there were no immediate reports of casualties or significant material damage following the quake, and tremors were felt in eastern parts of Tehran province and neighbouring cities across the Mazandaran province.

The India Today report said Red Crescent teams in Tehran, Mazandaran, Qom and Alborz provinces were placed on alert following the earthquake, and IRIB reported that no injuries or major financial damage had been recorded an hour after the tremor.

WANA News Agency said the 4.6-magnitude quake shook the border area between Tehran and Mazandaran provinces, with tremors felt across several parts of the capital and nearby cities including Pardis, Varamin, Pakdasht, and parts of Shemiranat.

WANA also reported that a second earthquake measuring 4.0 struck Tehran at 00:28 local time with a depth of 8 kilometers, and a third earthquake with a magnitude of 3.4 struck near Pardis at 00:32 local time.

After the earthquake, the Iranian Red Crescent Society announced that all relief bases and emergency response teams in Tehran Province have been placed on full alert and are prepared to respond if necessary.

The WION report similarly said the tremor was felt in several nearby areas, including eastern parts of Tehran province and neighbouring cities across the Mazandaran province, while authorities reported no immediate casualties or significant material damage.
