Full Analysis Summary

El Fasher and Darfur

Minni Arko Minawi, the governor of Darfur and leader of the Sudan Liberation Movement, vowed that El Fasher has not fallen and will remain defiant by the will of its people.

He pledged to return there no matter how fierce the violence of the Janjaweed militia (in reference to the Rapid Support Forces), and no matter how great the support behind them grows.

Minawi said El Fasher was subjected to extermination and that the capabilities of states exceed those of the Rapid Support Forces.

He stressed that the land belongs to its people and that the right does not lose.

He announced that the joint force of the armed struggle movements will be integrated into the ranks of the Sudanese army after the end of the war and affirmed that a new combat doctrine will be built for the armed forces.

Since April 2023, Sudan has been at war between the army and the Rapid Support Forces, resulting in tens of thousands of deaths and the displacement of 11 million people, and causing one of the world’s worst humanitarian crises.
