France 3 Régions said the Lille juvenile brigade contacted families in the Lille metropolitan area who used Camille O.’s babysitting services, and it quoted Luc* saying, "They wanted to know if we had indeed hired Camille for babysitting".

The same report said Camille O. had been banned from working with children and that, after leaving prison in 2023, he settled in the North and resumed offering childcare on the Nounou Top platform.
France 3 Régions reported that the Lille prosecutor’s office said "about thirty families are potentially affected" and that all parents who used his services will be contacted by the juvenile brigade to be heard.

UK: 29-year sentence
In Doncaster, a local mini-mart worker, Bawan Harwe, was sentenced to 29 years in jail for raping six children in 2024, after Sheffield Crown Court heard he lured underage girls back to his flat on Hexthorpe Road with the promise of free vapes and cash.
The BBC reported that one of the schoolgirls said, "It makes you scared," as she described being frightened to walk through the area after hearing stories on social media about local girls being targeted.

The BBC said the youngest victim was 12 years old and that Harwe, a 28-year-old Iraqi national, was seeking asylum, while the Home Office said it cannot confirm his status in the UK for legal reasons.
It also reported that a co-worker, Sharam Muhamadi, originally from Iran, was convicted of facilitating travel for exploitation and that there is now a manhunt to find him after he fled the trial.
Locals told the BBC they were horrified but not surprised, and one woman who did not wish to be named said the area had become "lawless".
Mini-marts under scrutiny
The BBC said the case has thrown a spotlight once again on crimes and illegal activity centred around mini-marts in the UK, and it referenced BBC investigations over the past 18 months into the sale of cocaine and cannabis over the counter at mini-marts.

It reported that residents living near Hexthorpe Mini Market told the BBC they were horrified but not surprised, and it said a local business owner was "disgusted" when he heard about the girls being drugged and raped.
The BBC also described enforcement efforts, saying multiple raids at the shop had taken place and that Trading Standards officers left an hour before the shop would start selling again "straight away".
In Doncaster, South Yorkshire police confirmed it was aware of enforcement action being carried out inside Hexthorpe Mini Market, while City of Doncaster Council said it would not comment on ongoing investigations.
The BBC further reported that during the trial the jury heard that a man known as "Karzan" arranged Harwe and Muhamadi's jobs and their accommodation in a neighbouring flat, and it said Karzan Hussein confirmed in a phone call that he had given jobs in Doncaster to Muhamadi and rented rooms in his house on Hexthorpe Road to both Barwan and Muhamadi.
