Memo Says Trump Fit
President Donald Trump’s physician, Dr. Sean Barbabella, said in a memo released by the White House that Trump “remains in excellent health, demonstrating strong cardiac, pulmonary, neurological and overall physical function.”
The memo said the president is “fully fit to carry out all duties” of the presidency after a visit on Tuesday to Walter Reed national military medical center, which the White House physician described as his third in 13 months and fourth in his second presidency.

The Washington Post reported that Barbabella wrote Trump “remains in excellent health, demonstrating strong cardiac, pulmonary, neurological, and overall physical function.”
Time reported that Trump was advised to increase physical activity and lose weight after gaining 14 pounds in just over a year, and it said the report urged weight loss as he approaches his 80th birthday next month.
Health Details and Tests
The Guardian said the memo described “lower leg swelling” and “benign” hand bruising, while also stating Trump maintained “everything checked out perfectly” shortly after his Tuesday visit to Walter Reed.
CBS News reported that Barbabella said Trump’s blood pressure was 105 over 71, his resting heart rate was 73 beats per minute, and that he is taking aspirin and the cholesterol control drugs rosuvastatin and ezetimibe.

WSET said the report prepared by Barbabella and conducted on May 26 at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center recorded Trump at 79 years old, weighing 238 pounds and standing 6 feet 3 inches tall, with oxygen saturation at 98% “on room air.”
WSET also said the evaluation found no major abnormalities involving his heart, lungs, neurological function, or other key systems, and it reported a coronary CT angiogram found no arterial blockages or structural abnormalities.
Debate Over Credibility
The Washington Post said readers expressed skepticism about the medical report, with comments questioning the credibility of the medical report and citing visible signs of poor health such as obesity and cognitive issues.
The New York Times reported that the White House released a three-page report from Trump’s physician, Dr. Sean P. Barbabella, declaring that the 79-year-old president “remains in excellent health, demonstrating strong cardiac, pulmonary, neurological, and overall physical function.”
NBC News said Trump regularly insists he is in excellent health, including on Tuesday after his visit to Walter Reed in Bethesda, Maryland, when he posted on Truth Social, “Just finished my 6 month physical at Walter Reed Military Medical Center. Everything checked out PERFECTLY.”
The Guardian noted that the memo did not address the reason for skin treatment in March on the president’s neck and did not say he underwent another magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) exam as he did in October, while Reuters contributed reporting.
