Krings urges Turkey support
Günter Krings, deputy parliamentary group leader of Germany's Christian Union parties (CDU/CSU), said they wished 'that the criminal mullah regime is experiencing its final phase,' both for the Iranian people and for the whole world.
On the other hand, Krings warned that Europe must be prepared for the possibility of a conflict in Iran that could last longer.

Krings said this means being ready for a possible increase in migration if there is a war in the neighboring region, noting that there has already been a rise in border crossings into Turkey.
Emphasizing that the European Commission should support Turkey in taking in Iranian refugees, Krings said this would prevent a second wave of migration toward Europe.
The CDU politician said, 'Because those in Turkey are already safe.
It would also be in their own interest for Iranians to remain as close to their homeland as possible.
Europe and our neighboring countries must not allow an uncontrolled migration crisis like in 2015 to happen again.'
Border registration stance
Those arriving in Europe should be registered at the borders.

Nevertheless, Krings argued that Iranian refugees who do manage to reach Europe should be registered at European Union (EU) borders without exception, and he maintained that existing EU law must be applied everywhere.
The conservative politician said, 'Under the new EU asylum system, asylum procedures can be carried out directly at the border before entry into the country.'
Exclusion and CDU policy
Krings said he is completely opposed to supporters of the Iranian regime entering Europe, stating, 'Let this be clear: supporters of the Iranian regime should have no chance of entering Europe.
It cannot be said that those supporting the terrorist mullahs are currently under a threat of persecution in Iran.

Moreover, we assume that any democratic government we hope will come to power in the future will apply the rule of law to all its citizens.
Therefore, supporters of the current regime should not expect acceptance from us.'
In Germany, Prime Minister Friedrich Merz's party, the Christian Democratic Union (CDU), and its sister party, the Christian Social Union (CSU), pursue policies aimed at severely restricting immigration to the country.
