Iran’s Supreme National Security Council Says It Forced America to Accept Ten-Point Plan

A statement attributed to Iran’s Supreme National Security Council says Iran forced “criminal America to accept its ten-point plan,” including “continued control of the Hormuz Strait by Iran,” “acceptance of enrichment,” and “lifting of all primary and secondary sanctions,” while also calling for “a cessation of the war on all fronts.”

In the New York Post, a report says Iranian Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei authorized in-person meetings with the US to finalize a peace deal, with his negotiation team heading to Switzerland for the first round of negotiations with the US on Friday under a memorandum of understanding.

The New York Post also says the US and Iran have “60 days to discuss the future of Iran’s nuclear ambitions and the fate of the Strait of Hormuz,” and it quotes Trump saying, “If you believe the stories, he’s missing a lot of different parts.”

Al-Jazeera Net reports Trump told Axios he regrets harming Mojtaba Khamenei and says, “Yes, I killed Ali Khamenei and a number of IRGC officials.”

In BBC reporting from Iran’s protests, injured protester Hamed Azadbakht addressed riot police after showing pellet wounds on his face, saying, “Brother, friend, a centimeter of shrapnel hit me here; you blinded me.”

Azadbakht told police he was “like you, by God,” and he said, “We are young too; we are looking for a home to rent. We are trapped, we are hungry.”

The BBC says Azadbakht posted a follow-up video on his Instagram on “14 Dey,” and in it he said, “Don’t worry about me. I have decided not to be afraid, that’s all.”

The BBC also reports that business owners and shopkeepers on their official Instagram business pages announced they joined strikes “until better conditions” are reached, with some pausing business and others saying they were ready to take on legal representation of protesters or detainees free of charge.

Al-Jazeera Net says a memorandum of understanding was signed electronically by U.S. President Trump and Iranian counterpart Masoud Bezhkian, paving the way to end the war that Washington and Tel Aviv started against Iran on “February 28 of last year.”

The same report says the temporary agreement states the United States and Iran will declare an “immediate and permanent halt to hostilities on all fronts, including Lebanon,” and it adds that Pakistan announced the memorandum would take effect.

Al-Jazeera Net further says Iran would begin “reopen[ing] the Strait of Hormuz to navigation” in exchange for the United States beginning to lift the maritime blockade imposed on Tehran since “April of last year.”

In the New York Post, the report says Khamenei instructed his team not to yield to any demands made by Washington that he deems excessive, while also quoting Khamenei’s statement about granting permission based on assurances from Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian and the head of the Supreme National Security Council.
