Nasr 2 Radar Strikes
Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said on Tuesday that its forces struck and disabled early warning and tactical radar systems in Kuwait as part of the second wave of "Operation Nasr 2."
In its "Statement No. 41," the IRGC said the strikes were aimed at "cleansing the region of radar systems," and it claimed it "accurately" targeted and destroyed a main early warning radar, a tactical radar unit near Ali al-Salem Air Base, and another radar system on Bubiyan Island.
Shafaq News reported that the IRGC said the facilities had been put completely out of operational service, and it added that "Operationto punish the aggressor would continue."
The same Shafaq News account also cited US Secretary of War Pete Hegseth saying the US military campaign against Iran has cost $37.5 billion so far, nearly $8 billion more than the last publicly disclosed estimate.
It further quoted Hegseth describing Iran as being at its weakest military point ever while still retaining military capabilities, according to Shafaq News.
US Cost, Regional Warnings
Shafaq News said Iran’s Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters warned that all US interests across the region would become targets if the United States attacks Iran's nuclear facilities or other sensitive sites.
The same account said the military headquarters stated that any US strike on Iran's nuclear installations or critical facilities would be considered an expansion of the war in the region.
Caspian Post, citing Al Jazeera, reported that the IRGC said it had “decommissioned” an early warning radar and a tactical radar complex around the Ali Al Salem airbase in Kuwait, and another radar system on Bubiyan Island.
Caspian Post added that the IRGC said its attacks succeeded in “destroying” the radar systems and putting them out of action, and it quoted the IRGC saying, "The operation to punish the aggressor continues,".
Together, the two accounts frame the radar claims in Kuwait alongside a broader escalation warning tied to potential US action against Iran’s nuclear facilities.
Operation Nasr 2 Expands
Iran’s IRGC said it targeted a tactical radar complex near Kuwait’s Ali Al Salem Air Base and another radar system on Bubiyan Island on Tuesday, according to Iran’s Revolutionary Guards account carried by ایـران اینترنشنال.
In the same report, the outlet described Yemen’s Houthis declaring a maritime embargo against Saudi Arabia on Monday and said the order targets Saudi-linked shipping rather than all vessels passing through Bab el-Mandeb.
The report also included a Reuters-seen letter to shipping companies warning that vessels loading or discharging oil at Saudi ports could be attacked anywhere within the reach of the Houthis’ forces.
Separately, IranWire reported that the IRGC and the Army of the Islamic Republic announced a new wave of missile and drone strikes targeting US positions in Kuwait, Bahrain, and Jordan early Tuesday morning, July 21.
IranWire said the IRGC claimed it targeted US air defence and radar systems in the Al-Muharraq and Riffa regions of Bahrain and also claimed to have struck and “destroyed” Amazon’s primary data centre infrastructure in Bahrain using cruise missiles.
