Ceasefire, then more killings

Israel continued to violate the ceasefire in Gaza even as it expanded its occupation of the coastal enclave to 59%, according to Israeli Army Radio, which said the broadcaster’s figure reflected the situation after a cease-fire that had been meant to end a two-year Israeli onslaught.

The Daily Sabah report said that before the October 2025 ceasefire, Israel occupied 53% of the strip, and it added that Hamas has said Israeli army occupies over 60% of the coastal enclave.

In parallel, İlke Haber Ajansı reported that Israeli occupation forces killed a Palestinian man east of Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip on Sunday, raising fatalities in the area to two within hours.

İlke Haber Ajansı said medical sources confirmed the unidentified victim was shot dead by Israeli forces near the Bani Suheila roundabout, and it also said that 15-year-old Riyad Naji Abu Nimer was martyred in a cold-blooded Israeli drone strike in the same area earlier in the day.

Yeni Safak English described another set of incidents, saying Israeli attacks killed two Palestinians in Gaza as ceasefire violations persist, including a 26-year-old man who died from drone strike injuries near Deir al-Balah and another who perished in Khan Younis.

It identified the Deir al-Balah casualty as Muhammad al-Sayed Suleiman Sbeitan, aged 26, and said he was attacked near the Qastal Towers east of Deir al-Balah.

Yeni Safak English also named the Khan Younis casualty as Ammar Talal Abu Shab and said he was killed in the Al-Satar Al-Sharqi district north of Khan Younis by Israeli gunfire.

Across the reports, the pattern was framed as attacks occurring beyond Israeli-controlled zones, with İlke Haber Ajansı and Yeni Safak English both tying the killings to ongoing ceasefire violations.

Numbers and the expanding toll

The reports tied the continuing violence to a running tally of deaths and injuries since the ceasefire took effect on October 11, 2025, while also citing different cumulative figures for the same period.

İlke Haber Ajansı said the total number of Palestinians killed in Gaza since the ceasefire took effect on October 11, 2025, reached 831, and it said injuries had surpassed 2,342.

It further stated that 767 bodies remained recovered from under the rubble of destroyed homes and infrastructure.

Yeni Safak English, meanwhile, described the broader casualty toll as exceeding 72,000 since Israeli forces launched extensive operations in Gaza during October 2023, and it said the campaign reduced large portions of the coastal enclave to ruins.

Association France Palestine Solidarité said the deaths brought to at least 12 the total number of Palestinians killed in Gaza over the past 24 hours, including eight whose bodies were recovered from the territory’s rubble.

It also said that the Gaza government’s media office condemned “serious and systematic” violations of the truce by Israel and claimed Israeli authorities had violated the ceasefire 875 times since it came into effect.

Association France Palestine Solidarité added that at least 411 Palestinians have been killed and 1,112 others injured in Israeli attacks on Gaza since the ceasefire began.

Al-Jazeera Net reported that Palestinian Health Ministry data indicated that the ongoing Israeli violations since the start of the ceasefire had left 832 Palestinians martyred and about 2,354 others injured by Monday afternoon.

Hamas, Israel, and aid blocked

Beyond battlefield incidents, the sources described a dispute over humanitarian access and the meaning of the ceasefire, with Hamas and UN officials cited alongside Israeli claims.

Association France Palestine Solidarité said Israel continues to violate the ceasefire agreement and block humanitarian aid, and it described the Gaza government’s media office condemning “serious and systematic” violations of the truce.

It also claimed that Israeli authorities violated the ceasefire 875 times since it came into effect, including “ongoing Israeli air and artillery strikes” and “at least 265 incidents in which Israeli soldiers opened fire on Palestinian civilians.”

The same outlet said that only 17,819 trucks had entered the territory out of the 43,800 that were supposed to be allowed since the ceasefire took effect in October, and it contrasted that with a daily target of 600 trucks Israel had agreed to let into Gaza.

It quoted Stéphane Dujarric, spokesperson for UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, saying, “to lift all restrictions on the entry of aid to Gaza, including housing construction materials.”

Masrawy’s report focused on alleged abuse of a child during detention, describing that Israeli soldiers assaulted a child aged about 18 months in the central Gaza Strip and that the child was released after about ten hours of detention and handed over to his family through the International Committee of the Red Cross in the Maghazi area.

Meanwhile, صحیفة الخليج reported that Israeli authorities reopened the Rafah crossing partially after it had been closed for six days, and it said Palestinian Red Crescent crews helped carry out medical evacuations for 27 patients and 42 accompanying persons, for a total of 69 people.

It also quoted Hamas spokesman Hazem Qassem saying the Israeli occupation is deliberately escalating its measures toward restarting the process of engineering hunger by tightening the entry of aid, including flour.

Threats of renewed fighting

Daily Sabah framed Israel’s posture as preparing for a possible resumption of genocide in Gaza, reporting that Israel is preparing for possible resumption of genocide in the Gaza Strip while expanding its occupation to 59%.

It said senior Israeli military officials are pressing for a resumption of fighting in Gaza and believe that the best time to defeat Hamas is now, and it quoted the Israeli Army Radio report that the southern command has completed operational plans and is ready to resume fighting if ordered by the political leadership.

The report also said the army has reduced forces in southern Lebanon and redeployed regular brigades to Gaza and the West Bank.

In the same Daily Sabah account, it said the report comes amid Israel's ongoing ceasefire violations in the Gaza Strip as well as attacks in the West Bank, and it described the truce as meant to end a two-year Israeli onslaught on Gaza.

İlke Haber Ajansı described the continuing attacks in the southern Gaza Strip as highlighting persistent aggression and disregard for the ceasefire agreement, and it said Palestinian civilians continue to pay with their lives under Israeli gunfire and drone strikes.

Yeni Safak English similarly described the incidents as occurring beyond Israeli-controlled zones and said the persistence of military operations outside these established limits continues to threaten civilian safety and undermine the fragile truce understanding.

In صحیفة الخليج, the dispute over ceasefire compliance also extended to claims about abducting soldiers, with Hamas rejecting Israeli claims that it intends to abduct soldiers and calling it “an attempt by the occupation to justify its breach.”

That report quoted Israeli Channel 12 as saying Gaza Division commander Liron Bitito warned, “I am always worried and I don’t sleep peacefully at night; there is a threat to the forces, including Hamas’s desire to carry out kidnapping operations.”

Negotiations, crossings, and what follows

Several sources described diplomatic and operational steps that could shape whether the ceasefire holds, while also emphasizing that violations continue and that aid access remains constrained.

صحیفة الخليج said a Hamas delegation held talks with the representative of the Peace Council Nikolai Miladinov and mediators from Egypt, Qatar, and Turkey in Cairo, discussing the continuation of the ceasefire and addressing the war’s fallout in Gaza.

It added that Egyptian media reported positive atmosphere at Cairo negotiations regarding the 'Gaza Agreement,' and it said Al-Qahira Al-Youm channel quoted sources saying all parties in Cairo negotiations 'expressed their commitment to implementing all items of Trump’s plan for Gaza.'

The same report said sources added that Hamas adheres to implementing all outcomes of the Sharm el-Sheikh Summit and President Trump’s plan for Gaza.

In parallel, صحیفة الخليج said Israeli authorities reopened the Rafah crossing on the Egypt–Gaza border after six days of closure, and it said Palestinian Red Crescent crews helped carry out medical evacuations for 69 people.

The same outlet said Hamas spokesperson Hazem Qassem argued that the Israeli occupation is deliberately escalating its measures toward restarting the process of engineering hunger by tightening the entry of aid, including flour, and it said the restriction of aid is a flagrant violation of the ceasefire.

Al-Jazeera Net described ongoing attacks as part of daily violations of the ceasefire agreement in force since October 10, 2025, and it said a medical source at Al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza City reported the body of martyr Musa al-Abyad (44 years old) arrived after being shot by occupation forces in the al-Atatara area.

It also said that in the central Gaza Strip, a source at the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital reported a young man was martyred and others were wounded after an Israeli drone targeted “Abu Shaban Land” north of the Bureij camp.
