Quneitra Raid
Israeli forces carried out an overnight incursion into a village in Syria’s southern Quneitra province, raiding several homes before withdrawing, Syrian state media reported on Thursday.
“QUNEITRA, Syria: Israeli forces carried out an overnight incursion into a village in Syria’s southern Quneitra province, raiding several homes before withdrawing, Syrian state media reported on Thursday, in the latest incident highlighting ongoing tensions along the frontier”
The Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) said a unit consisting of nine Israeli military vehicles entered the village of Al-Asbah in the Quneitra countryside shortly after midnight on Wednesday and searched a number of homes before leaving the area.

SANA reported that no casualties or arrests were immediately reported, and the incident was framed as part of ongoing tensions along the frontier.
The raid was described as coming amid what Damascus says are repeated Israeli violations of the 1974 Disengagement Agreement that established a UN-monitored buffer zone between Syria and the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights following the 1973 Arab-Israeli war.
Damascus vs Israel
Damascus has repeatedly demanded the withdrawal of Israeli forces from Syrian territory, maintaining that Israeli actions in the south are illegal under international law and urging the international community to intervene to halt what it describes as ongoing violations.
The Arab News account also tied the raid to broader concerns over Israel’s military presence in southern Syria, noting that following the collapse of former Syrian president Bashar Assad’s government in December 2024, Israeli forces moved into the UN-monitored buffer zone adjacent to the Golan Heights.

It said Israel’s deployment was described as necessary to prevent attacks by armed groups and to disrupt weapons transfers from Iran to Hezbollah in neighboring Lebanon, while the United Nations and several international critics have argued the deployment violates the 1974 ceasefire arrangements.
The same report cited AP reporting that Israel currently controls approximately 235 square kilometers within the buffer zone and surrounding areas that Syria's interim government says should be vacated.
Security Council Push
In a Security Council session devoted to examining the humanitarian and political situation in Syria, the Kingdom reiterated its support for Syria's sovereignty and territorial integrity and condemned repeated Israeli incursions and aggression.
“On behalf of the Arab Group, the Kingdom reaffirmed its support for the unity of the Syrian Arab Republic, its sovereignty, and the territorial integrity of its lands, and its support for the Syrian state's efforts to exercise sovereignty over its entire territory”
The Arab Group, speaking through the Kingdom's Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Wasel, said the incursions and repeated Israeli aggression on Syrian territory constitute a flagrant violation of Syria's sovereignty and territorial integrity.
The same speech urged the international community to compel Israel to fully comply with the 1974 disengagement agreement and to withdraw immediately and unconditionally from the occupied Syrian Golan.
It also called for Syria's name to be removed from the list of state sponsors of terrorism and stressed the importance of international collective efforts to support the transitional phase and host countries carrying Syrian refugee burdens.
