Israeli Navy Seriously Wounds Palestinian Fisherman Muhammad Jalal Al-Abd Al-Qur'an Off Deir al-Balah

A Palestinian fisherman was seriously wounded on Thursday by Israeli naval fire off the coast of the Gaza Strip, according to WAFA as carried by وكالة سبأ.

The report said fisherman Muhammad Jalal al-Abd al-Qur'an was seriously wounded by gunfire from the Israeli navy early Thursday morning off the coast of Deir al-Balah in the central Gaza Strip.

In a separate account of Israeli attacks across Gaza, Anadolu Ajansı said one Palestinian was killed and four others were wounded when an Israeli drone hit a civilian vehicle in the al-Rimal neighborhood in central Gaza City.

Anadolu Ajansı also said Israeli suicide drone fire targeted a gathering of civilians in the al-Zaytoun neighborhood, injuring four Palestinians, one of them seriously, and it added that two Palestinian fishermen were wounded by Israeli naval fire off the coast of Khan Younis.

Anadolu Ajansı framed the incidents as part of daily Israeli violations of the ceasefire in effect since October 10, 2025, and it said the strikes and gunfire killed 877 Palestinians and wounded 2,602 others, citing Gaza’s Health Ministry.

The same Anadolu Ajansı report described an overnight strike on land near the displacement camps in the Mawasi Al-Qarara area northwest of Khan Younis after Israeli army warnings by phone to evacuate, saying the raid caused extensive damage with no reports of injuries or casualties.

القدس العربي reported that on Tuesday a strike by an Israeli drone targeting a civilian vehicle in the Al-Rimal neighborhood killed 29-year-old Bader Khalil Ahl and injured four others.

الجزيرة نت said that on Monday Israeli occupation forces’ gunfire killed three Palestinians and injured others, while it also reported that six fishermen, including three brothers, were arrested by Israeli naval forces during their work at sea.

The outlet said the Israeli navy attacked Palestinian fishing boats and arrested the fishermen off the coast near the town of Al-Zawaida in central Gaza, and it quoted the Palestinian Information Center’s account of Gaza fishermen union head Zakariya Bakr describing the detention as occurring while practicing their profession within the limited maritime area.

In Senenews’ account of a separate incident, it said the Israeli navy killed a Palestinian civilian on Sunday, February 25, after soldiers opened fire when a boat crossed the limits of the authorized fishing zone, and it added that the other two Palestinians were arrested.

Senenews also stated that Israel maintains a naval blockade of the Gaza Strip and that the fishing area provided for by the Oslo Accords of 1993 has been reduced several times in the past two years, while the army has detained several dozen fishermen from the territory.
