Shelling and the “Yellow Line”

Xinhua reported that Israeli military vehicles advanced in the area accompanied by gunfire, artillery fire and airstrikes, and that the operations forced dozens of families to flee their homes and seek shelter in western Gaza City.

Xinhua also said Israeli military vehicles, accompanied by a bulldozer, advanced several dozen meters into the eastern outskirts of Deir al-Balah in the central Gaza Strip, moved concrete barriers marking the "Yellow Line" about 100 meters westward, and then withdrew.

In the same incident described by Anadolu, the Israeli army killed three Palestinians and injured two others in artillery shelling east of Gaza City on Saturday near the Dawla roundabout in the Zeitoun neighborhood, and later issued an evacuation warning ahead of what the army claimed would be a "limited" military operation.

Anadolu further reported that Israeli forces expanded the territory under its occupation east of Deir al-Balah early Saturday by moving concrete blocks marking the so-called "yellow line" approximately 100 meters westward before withdrawing.

Ceasefire violations and hospital accounts

Gaza's Health Ministry figures cited by A News said Israeli ceasefire violations have killed more than 1,144 Palestinians and injured 3,703 others as of Friday, while the ministry also said Israel's military campaign since October 2023 has killed more than 73,000 Palestinians and wounded over 173,000 and caused destruction to about 90% of the enclave's civilian infrastructure.

A News reported that medical sources at Al-Shifa and Al-Ahli Baptist hospitals received the bodies of three Palestinians and two injured people after Israeli artillery shelling near the Dawla roundabout in the Zeitoun neighborhood, southeast of Gaza City.

In a separate account, Palestine Chronicle said Israeli drones killed Mohammed Tayseer Obeid after an Israeli drone struck an apartment in the Al-Taj residential building on Al-Yarmouk Street in central Gaza City, and it said six civilians, most of them women and children, were injured.

Palestine Chronicle also said that since the ceasefire entered into force on October 11, 2025, Israeli attacks have killed 1,127 Palestinians, wounded 3,643, and recovery teams have retrieved 800 additional bodies.

Daily Sabah reported that Jibril Khattab, a relative of one of the victims, told Reuters at Al Shifa Hospital in Gaza City, "The entire people of Gaza have not lived a single day or a single moment of cease-fire. This cease-fire is an illusion," adding, "No place in all of Gaza is safe."

More deaths, more displacement

WAFA reported that a Palestinian woman was killed and others were injured on Saturday evening in Israeli artillery shelling targeting the Al-Zeitoun neighborhood, east of Gaza City, and said Israeli artillery fired several shells at a group of Palestinians in the neighborhood.

WAFA also said that earlier on Saturday, five Palestinians, including three children, were killed in an Israeli strike on the Al-Nasr neighborhood west of Gaza City.

A News said dozens of Palestinian families fled the Dawla area south of Zeitoun after the Israeli army issued an evacuation warning by calling a local resident, and that the evacuation order came ahead of what the army claimed would be a "limited" military operation.

Palestine Chronicle described additional attacks across Gaza over the past 24 hours, including a strike north of Khan Yunis where Israeli drones killed Anas Hamdan, 34, the military media official of Hamas’ Al-Qassam Brigades, while wounding five other Palestinians.

Xinhua said the "Yellow Line" marks the Israeli military's withdrawal line established in the first phase of the Hamas-Israel ceasefire agreement, and that it has barred many residents from returning homes, particularly those in eastern Gaza City, eastern Khan Younis, and the northern towns of Beit Hanoun and Beit Lahia.
