Lebanese Islamic Resistance Targets Three Merkava Tanks, Israeli Soldiers Near Shaqif Historical Fortress

The Islamic Resistance in Lebanon announced it targeted, on Thursday, June 4, 2026, three Merkava tanks, a gathering of Israeli soldiers, and an improvised logistics support center near the Shaqif Historical Fortress in the south of the country.

Al-Manar TV Lebanon

In Statement No. 8, it said that at 16:00 on Thursday, June 4, 2026, the mujahideen targeted two Merkava tanks near the Shaqif Historical Fortress with suitable weapons, destroying them.

El-Nashra

In Statement No. 9, it said that at 16:15 on Thursday, June 4, 2026, the mujahideen targeted a gathering of soldiers of the Israeli army near the Shaqif Historical Fortress with artillery shells.

In Statement No. 10, it said that at 16:50 on Thursday, June 4, 2026, it targeted an improvised logistics support center affiliated with the Israeli army on the outskirts of the town of Yahmor al-Shaqif with two specialized drones.

The resistance said the operations came in response to the Israeli enemy’s violation of the ceasefire and attacks on southern villages that it said resulted in martyrs and injuries among civilians, within the battle known as 'The Devoured Whirlwind'.

Separately, Hizbollah said in Statement No. 9 that at 7:20 PM on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, Islamic Resistance fighters targeted a leadership headquarters belonging to Israeli army soldiers in the town of al-Bayyadah in southern Lebanon with a rocket salvo.

It added in Statement No. 12 that at 9:15 PM on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, fighters targeted a Merkava tank in the town of al-Bayyadah, southern Lebanon with a guided missile.

Wakalah Saba'

Elnashra also reported that Hizbollah announced that at 9:50 PM on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, Islamic Resistance fighters targeted an Israeli force in the town of al-Bayyadah, southern Lebanon for the second time with a rocket salvo.

Al-Manar TV Lebanon framed the June 4, 2026 actions as a sequence of strikes, including a claim that at 20:30 on Thursday, June 4, 2026, fighters targeted a Merkava tank near the historic Beaufort Castle with a guided missile, leading to its destruction.

The Al-Manar TV Lebanon account also said Israeli media described the army as facing a new serious security incident in southern Lebanon.

On Wednesday, May 13, 2026, the Islamic Resistance in Lebanon said it targeted multiple gatherings of Israeli armored vehicles in southern Lebanon, including an operation in the Iskandarouna area at 19:45 with two assault drones.

“Beirut – SABA: The Islamic Resistance in Lebanon, today Wednesday, targeted a Merkava tank and gatherings of armored vehicles and soldiers of the Israeli army in the occupied south”

Wakalah Saba'

It further stated that at 20:20 on Wednesday 13-05-2026, fighters targeted for a second time a gathering of the enemy army’s armored vehicles in the Iskandarouna area with a salvo of rockets.

The same set of statements said that at 17:00 on Wednesday 13-05-2026, fighters targeted a gathering of the Israeli army’s armored vehicles around the Musa Abbas complex in the city of Bint Jbeil with a swarm of assault drones.

In addition, it claimed that at 17:30 on Wednesday 13-05-2026, fighters targeted a Merkava tank belonging to the Israeli army in the al-Dawayer area in the town of Houla with an assault sortie and achieved a confirmed hit.

Across the accounts, the Islamic Resistance said its operations continued in response to what it described as Israeli violations of ceasefire understandings and assaults affecting southern villages and civilian areas.
