Nabatieh under shelling
Doctors Without Borders (MSF) condemned the latest shelling of Nabatieh in southern Lebanon, describing the attacks as "relentless" and "devastating" while civilians remained exposed to ongoing bombardment.
“Medical aid group Doctors Without Borders says conditions in the Nabatieh area of southern Lebanon, which is under ongoing Israeli attacks, resemble a “death trap””
MSF said its teams on the ground were reporting conditions that "resemble a death trap" as people were "caught under heavy shelling" and rescue access was urgently needed.

In a separate MSF update on southern Lebanon, François Zamparini said that "Since the ceasefire was established in November, and even today, Israeli forces continue to fire, strike and destroy civilian infrastructure".
MSF said the Ministry of Health reported 83 people killed and at least 228 injured by Israeli forces since the ceasefire was announced on November 27, 2024.
MSF reported that it intensified activities in southern Lebanon over the past 60 days by deploying three mobile medical teams in 11 localities of Nabatieh Governorate, in addition to two mobile teams already active in the South Governorate.
MSF teams and warnings
Al Jazeera reported that MSF said conditions in the Nabatieh area resemble a "death trap" and warned that responders were unable to evacuate many more people caught under heavy shelling due to the risk of coming under fire.
MSF emergency coordinator in Lebanon Pierre Boulet-Desbareau said in a statement, "People are arriving with severe head injuries, heavy bleeding, shrapnel injuries and in need of amputations," as the group responded to an influx of attack victims in Nabatieh.
The same Al Jazeera report said the Israeli military began striking multiple targets in southern Lebanon following a Hezbollah attack that killed four soldiers, while Israel continued attacks into Saturday despite US President Donald Trump announcing late on Friday that Israel had agreed to a ceasefire with Hezbollah.
In MSF’s local account of ongoing attacks despite the ceasefire, Jeremy Ristord said, "Families live in constant uncertainty, never knowing if their homes or loved ones will be the next to be hit."
MSF described how its teams mobilized after strikes on Kfar Tebnit, distributing food parcels, blankets and mattresses to families affected by the attacks and continuing care in mobile clinics across the province.
Ceasefire, displacement, aid
MSF said Israeli attacks continued in Lebanon despite ceasefire agreements signed in November 2024, with the group intervening to provide urgent medical and material aid while supporting communities worn down by months of uncertainty, fear and displacement.
“Doctors Without Borders (MSF) has condemned the latest shelling of Nabatieh in southern Lebanon, describing the attacks as "relentless" and "devastating"”
In its local Lebanon briefing, MSF said UNIFIL reported more than 10,000 Israeli ceasefire violations and more than 370 people killed by Israeli strikes in Lebanon since the start of the agreement.
MSF reported that in Kfar Tebnit, strikes displaced at least 37 families in the town, and it said its teams met Hawraa al-Mokdad, the mother of Mohamad Mehdi, after she lost her home during the latest Israeli attacks.
MSF also detailed that in 2025, its teams in Nabatieh carried out 28,000 consultations, 2,800 in mental health, and more than 10,300 awareness-raising sessions as urgent needs remained significant.
In its southern Lebanon press release, MSF warned that "Any escalation of violence or violation of the ceasefire would further jeopardize the health and well-being of thousands of families in southern Lebanon" while it continued reconstruction-phase support.
